Drums of War
A war is being fought
…..in the heavenlies…..
The combatants are ready
And armed to the teeth
The battle lines are drawn
In this quest for supremacy
After the clash
Only one will be…..
…..left to run the kingdom…..
……which one will it be?
God’s word is very plain
The future’s been decreed
The lesser gods are fallen
For eternity
But……in the meantime…..
There are casualties
Skirmishes are fought
Over you and me
It’s waged for—and through—us
…..and our families…..
Our allegiance is the prize
Contended for…..desired…..
Do you have your armor on?
What colors do you show?
The preparation’s heating up
It’s time for you to know
But, if you choose the one true king
…..and into war you go…..
No weapon formed against you
Will be effective in the end
For, if you fall in battle
You’ll still be a winner…..
……if….you place your trust in Him…..
Which side holds your future?
Will your garment be sparkly white?
Or…..will you hang your head……
……and be banished….. to endless night?
Will it be the heavenly choir…..
…..Or…..endless wails…..you hear…..
As you spend endless ages…..
…..the choice is very clear…..
I hear the war drums sounding
Calling and inviting
Tension’s quickly rising…..
……expectancy…..excitement…..
…..Is giving way to silence……
And….in the hushed quiet…..
All ears…..are listening…..
…..for the trumpet call…..
…..that sets it all in motion…..
The campaign will be finished soon…..
