DAILY DEVOTION — January 14
First Things First
Matthew 6:33 (NKJV)
(But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness...)
Jesus’ command to seek first the kingdom of God is a call to reorder our priorities. When we pursue
His righteousness before anything else, peace follows, and provision is no longer something we
chase—it becomes something that finds us.
The world teaches us to seek success, comfort, or control, but God teaches us to seek Him. When
our focus shifts upward, everything else falls into its rightful place. Gratitude strengthens this focus,
reminding us of Who sustains us and why we can trust His promise that “all these things shall be
added.”
Faith that puts God first never ends in lack; it ends in blessing.
Reflection Questions:
1. What areas of my life need to be realigned with God’s priorities?
2. How can I make seeking God my first response instead of my last resort?
3. How does gratitude help me stay focused on what truly matters?
Prayer:
Lord, I choose to seek You first. Reorder my thoughts and priorities so that Your kingdom comes
before everything else. Thank You for providing all I need when I put You first. Amen.
Practical Application:
โ Begin each day with prayer and Scripture before checking your phone.
โ Identify one habit or distraction that keeps you from putting God first.
โ Write down a testimony of how God provided when you sought Him above all else.
Takeaway Thought:
When God comes first, everything else finds its proper place.
