“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”— 2 Corinthians 5:17
Thought Of The Day...
The moment we come into Christ, everything changes. Paul does not say we are improved or repaired—he declares that we are made new. Salvation is not cosmetic; it is transformational. When we surrender our lives to Jesus, God does not merely adjust our behavior—He renews our identity.
“Old things are passed away” speaks to the guilt, shame, habits, failures, and labels that once defined us. The past no longer has authority over our future. The chains that once bound us have been broken by the power of the Cross. Through Christ, we are no longer prisoners of who we were—we are empowered by who He is.
“Behold” is an invitation to pause and look closely. God wants us to recognize and embrace what He has done. All things are become new—our thinking, our desires, our purpose, and our direction. This newness is not temporary; it is a daily work of the Holy Spirit renewing us from the inside out.
As leaders, fathers, mothers, and believers, this truth calls us to live from our new identity, not our old experiences. We are no longer led by fear, regret, or condemnation. We walk in grace, truth, and the confidence that God is still working in us.
Being a new creation also comes with responsibility. We are called to reflect Christ in our homes, our conversations, and our conduct. When others look at us, they should see evidence that Jesus makes all things new.
Something To Think About...
• Am I living like my old life still defines me, or am I walking in my new identity in Christ?
• What “old things” do I need to fully release to God today?
• How can my renewed life point others to Christ?
Prayer...
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for making me a new creation through Christ Jesus. I am grateful that my past no longer defines me and that Your grace has given me a fresh beginning. Help me to let go of every old mindset, habit, and fear that does not align with who You have called me to be. Renew my mind daily and strengthen me to walk in obedience, holiness, and love. Let my life be a reflection of Your transforming power, and may others see Christ in me. I declare that old things are passed away, and all things are made new in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
