The Gift of Job: A Soul Restored (My Christmas Witness)

They say Christmas is a time for giving, and today, on His birthday, I am giving Him the only thing I have that is truly His: His Glory. I am standing here to be a witness to His restoration, to share the hope of all hopes that I found in Jesus.

The Depth of the Darkness

Many of us know the story of Job—to have everything taken away, only to be restored. For a long time, my life was a series of attacks from every position and form. Most people know I was once a 12-year-old runaway, homeless on the streets until I was 19. I thought I knew what "hard" was. I thought I knew struggle. But years later, I hit a darkness that made the streets look easy.
My life shattered into pieces. I lost custody of two sets of kids from two different relationships. I reached the lowest point a human being can reach, where I simply gave up and left my life to the vices of the world. I lost my mind, and I truly believed what was left of my soul went with it.

I had witnessed and endured horrible things in my last relationship. It stripped me of my dignity and left me feeling a hopelessness I had never felt before, not even in the abusive household I grew up in, and not in all those years on the streets. That relationship was incomparable. It took my babies with it, and it left me empty.

The Angel in the Flesh
But God.

In that pitch-black darkness, Jesus, who is Grace, placed an angel in my life. A protector in the flesh. This person had been in my life for a while, but God positioned him right where he needed to be to catch me when I fell. He watched me the whole time. He accepted me when I was so broken, so desperate, and so hopeless. He had seen me when I was full of life and searching for something to hold onto, and he didn't turn away when that light went out.

Step by step, even when he had to let me go, God placed Grace inside of him to be able to understand me. These are the miracles God grants that we often don't see in the moment. He allowed this family to take me in, and in that house, I found Jesus. I didn't find Him far away in the clouds; I found Him inside of my soul, waiting for me all along.

15 Years of Holy Presence

That was 15 years ago.
God didn’t just save me; He built a life for me that I never could have imagined in my wildest dreams. I married that angel. The man who caught me when I was shattered became my husband, and together, God blessed us with three beautiful children.

For 15 years, I have lived a beautiful, blessed life, walking daily in His Holy Presence. The "Gift of Job" isn't just about getting things back; it’s about the transformation of the soul. My life was a wreckage, but He rebuilt it into a temple.

To anyone reading this who feels like the world has won:
Look inward. I have been the runaway, the homeless child, and the mother with empty arms. I have been the one without dignity or hope. But today, I am a witness. I am living proof that no matter how many pieces your life is in, the Creator knows exactly how they fit back together.

This is my gift back to Him, to tell you that He is real, He is Grace, and He is waiting to restore you, too.

Grab your tea, take a breath, and look inside your soul. He’s waiting there for you, too. What is one 'hidden miracle' God has granted you that the world doesn't see? Let’s sip and testify together.
