Thinking about a Christmas gift
A gift started with someone having an idea, this equals God’s plan of redemption for mankind.
The process of making the gift is equivalent to Jesus (God) taking on flesh in being formed in the womb of Mary.
Shopping and choosing the gift would be like choosing Jesus, accepting Him as your Lord and Savior.
Wrapping the gift to give an element of surprise would be like when your eyes are opened to all the benefits of knowing Jesus.
The giving is because of love just as God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (john 3:16a)
The receiver accepts the gift as one who decides to believe in Jesus (John 3:16b)
The purpose is your desire to bless someone just like God's desire that you should not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16c)
