As global tensions surrounding religious freedom are on the rise, BWA (Baptist World Alliance) launched on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from Falls Church, Virginia, an open call for nominations for its 2026 Human Rights Award.
The award aims to recognize a global Baptist leader who is making a significant impact in defending religious freedom, human rights, and justice. The winner will be honored during the upcoming BWA Annual Gathering, scheduled to take place in Toronto, Canada, in July 2026.
