WHAT IS YOUR CALLING?

Many people move through life without clarity about why they are here.

They chase money, fame, relationships, and success—but still feel empty.

The truth is this: until you discover your calling, you won’t discover your true fulfillment.

Romans 8:28–30; Ephesians 4:1

God did not create you by accident. You were created on purpose, with a purpose.

The Bible says:

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” — Ephesians 2:10

Your life is a divine assignment.

1. WHAT IS A CALLING?

A calling is God’s personal invitation to serve His purpose in a specific way.
It is heaven’s direction for your life and destiny.

“Moreover whom He did predestinate, them He also called…” — Romans 8:30

Your calling is not just a career. It is not just a job. It is a divine responsibility placed on your life by God.

* Some are called to preach (Jeremiah 1:5)

* Some are called to lead (Judges 6:12–14 – Gideon)

* Some are called to serve (Acts 6:1–5)

* Some are called to create, build, give, teach, encourage, and influence (1 Corinthians 12)

Everyone has a calling — but not everyone discovers it.

2. HOW DOES GOD CALL A PERSON?

God can call you through different means:

* His Word – He speaks through Scripture

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet…” — Psalm 119:105

* The Holy Spirit – An inner conviction or burden

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” — Romans 8:14

* Circumstances – Doors open, others close (Acts 16:6–10)

* Godly leaders and confirmations – Like Paul & Timothy (Acts 16:1–3)

God’s call is persistent. If you ignore it today, it will come again.

3. SIGNS YOU ARE WALKING OR NOT WALKING IN YOUR CALL

Signs you are WALKING in your call:

* You feel peace even in difficulty (Philippians 4:7)

* Your work glorifies God (Matthew 5:16)

* You impact lives positively (Matthew 28:19)

* God supplies grace for it (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Signs you are NOT walking in your call:

* Constant frustration (Jonah 1:1–3)

* Fear and confusion (James 1:8)

* Lack of spiritual fruit (John 15:16)

* Living for yourself only (Luke 12:15)

Jonah tried to run from his calling and ended in the belly of a fish.

You cannot escape your assignment. You can only delay your greatness.

4. WHY MANY PEOPLE MISS THEIR CALLING

* Fear of failure (2 Timothy 1:7)

* Love for comfort

* Distractions of the world (1 John 2:15–17)

* Comparison with others

* Lack of spiritual discipline

* Disobedience

“Many are called, but few are chosen.” — Matthew 22:14

Not because God rejects many — but because many reject the process.

5. HOW TO DISCOVER AND FULFILL YOUR CALL

* Surrender your life to God – Romans 12:1

* Pray for direction – James 1:5

* Study Scripture – 2 Timothy 2:15

* Serve faithfully in small things – Luke 16:10

* Listen to godly counsel – Proverbs 11:14

* Step out in faith – Hebrews 11:6

* Your calling does not begin in the pulpit.

It begins in obedience.

6. FINAL WORD: WHAT IS YOUR CALL?

Your calling is:

* To glorify God

* To impact others

* To advance His Kingdom

* To fulfill divine purpose before you leave the earth

If God created you, He also assigned you.

Discover it. Accept it. Walk in it. Finish it.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” — 2 Timothy 4:7

Will this be your testimony?

PRAYER
“Father, reveal Your calling to my life. Remove every distraction, fear, and doubt. Align me with Your divine purpose. Give me the grace to obey and the power to finish my assignment. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
