WHEN GOD IS SILENT!

When God is silent, it doesn't mean he is absent. He is only busy making the difference. When God is silent, it doesn't mean he has forgotten you. His silence doesn't mean absence. He is only busy fixing your present.

Consequently, don't give up. Don't assume God has left you. Don't assume he hates you. Don't assume that God does not exist, because he does! He is only busy working on your case!

Some problems and issues take more time to fix than others. The bigger the blessing God is planning for you, the longer it takes to get it delivered. That's why the duration of an elephant's pregnancy is usually longer than that of a goat.

It took Joseph many years of prayers and possible fasting before his lofty childhood dreams of becoming a ruler came to pass (Genesis 41:1-57). I am sure at some point Joseph might have thought that God had abandoned him, because his problems actually grew worse, but he never gave up even when everything pointed the opposite.

Likewise, it took Hannah many years of prayers and supplications before she had a child of her own, but the child God gave her wasn't an ordinary child. It was a special child, the pride of Israel. God gave Hannah an additional 7 sons, who were better than Peninah's children one million times (1 Samuel 1:20).

Your own issue may not require years for God to answer. It might be months, weeks or even days for your answers to be delivered.

However, whatever the time frame, don't give up. God has not left you, neither has he forgotten you. He is only busy working on your case. Things that stand the test of time always take time to build.

Abraham and Sarah waited for many years before they gave birth to Isaac, the son of the covenant (Genesis 21:1-22). Likewise, Isaac and Rebecca had a delay in childbirth, but they ended up giving birth to two nations in Jacob and Esau (Genesis 25:21-34).

Rachael's delay in childbirth broke and overwhelmed her, but she eventually gave birth to the last two sons of Jacob, of whom one became the saviour of other children (Genesis 30:22-43).

Elizabeth and Zachariah also had their own fair share of delay, but they both gave birth to the forerunner of Jesus Christ in the person of John the Baptist. (Luke 1:5-19).

Dear reader, I understand you have prayed, prayed and prayed, but it appears God is silent. Don't give up. Don't despair. Keep praying even when everything appears not to be working. God is busy working on your case and will settle you in due course, and very soon we shall rejoice with you. Shalom!
