A man's daughter asked the local preacher to come and pray for her father. When the minister showed up, he found the man in bed with two pillows under his head. An empty chair stood next to him. The visitor then accepted that the patient was already expecting him.

"I see you were expecting me" he said.

"No, who are you?" - ask the elderly man.
The minister introduces himself and notes:

“I saw the empty chair and then accepted that you had let it sit straight for me.” "

"Oh yes, that chair," says the old man. "Will you please close the door for me?" ”

The visitor closes like this.
The old man started to speak:

“I’ve never told this to anyone, not even my daughter, but in my whole life, I’ve never learned to pray.” At church our teacher preached on prayer, but it was all above my fireplace, but one day, about four years ago, my best friend told me - Jannie, prayer is simply a conversation with Jesus, so I suggest you pull up a chair and put it in front of your bed then you imagine yourself that Jesus is sitting on that chair. It's not wrong, because He is everywhere, then just talk to Him like you are talking to me now. So I did this and I love it so much that I do it for a few hours every day, but I’m being careful, if my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she’d send me to an establishment. ”

The teacher was deeply moved by this narrative and encouraged the patient to carry on as he does. He then prayed with the old man and went home. Two nights later, the daughter called to tell him that her daddy had passed away that afternoon.

"Did he die in peace?" " he asks.

"Yes, when I was out at two o'clock in the afternoon, he called me, told me that he loved me and kissed me." When I came back from the store an hour later I found him but something was funny, apparently just before he died he leaned to the side of the chair and rested his head on the chair as if he was banging his head on someone shot would lay down, what would that mean now? "

The preacher wipes a tear and says:
"I don't know, but I wish we could all go like this with our heads on JESUS' lap"

We are not supposed to pray for people to hear our prayers, our prayers are meant for God. Prayer is intimate spiritual communication between your spirit and the Spirit of God that dwells in you. It is Jesus' desire to overwhelm you with His love, He is the perfect Father and He is waiting for your conversation with Him.
