THE DOCTRINE OF REMARRIAGE AFTER DIVORCE: GOD’S PROTECTION OF VICTIMIZED WOMEN IN THE BIBLE

This paper, originally written for a course in Seminary, is currently available to subscribers only. This book will eventually be published as an e-book and a physical book, at some point down the road.

This book explores the false marriage permanence idea of modern conservative preachers who lack discernment, and are only trying to make the Bible fit to their own, preconceived false narrative. Marriage permanence adherents teach that you cannot get a divorce without remaining single forever, until your former spouse passes away (or you do). They teach that no matter what you do, the person you married the first time is your “covenant spouse” and that your union can never be broken. Not if they beat you. Not if they are unfaithful. Not if they come out as transgender. Not if they turn homosexual. Not if they refuse to provide. This is wrong.

They call the new spouse of one’s former spouse (who’s gone on and remarried after a divorce) the “other woman / man” or the “counterfeit” or “adulterous partner.”

They teach that all remarriage is adultery.

They teach that it’s better to divorce a current spouse and destroy a family with children, and remarry your first spouse (which God calls an abomination), than to stick with a second marriage.

The paper proves how abominable and heretical the marriage permanence view truly is. It also explores a major mistranslation in the KJV regarding marriage and divorce, where Jesus speaks on divorce when questioned about putting away.

If you are undergoing separation or divorce, this will help inform your theology. This book is appropriate for anyone going into the ministry or facing a marriage or family struggle. It puts the Bible back into the proper historical context so it can be understood. You will be set free when you read this expository on the doctrine of divorce and remarriage.
