The Grace of God
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-9 – “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
Beloved, today we reflect on one of the most beautiful truths in all of Scripture: the grace of God.
Grace is unearned. It is undeserved. It is God’s love and kindness poured out freely on us—not because we are good, but because He is good.
We live in a world where people expect to earn what they receive—through effort, performance, or reputation. But God’s grace breaks that system. It says, “You don’t have to work for My love. You just have to believe.”
This grace is what saved us. Not our background. Not our works. Not our money. We were sinners, lost and broken. But Jesus came, full of grace and truth, and made a way for us to be reconciled to the Father. His death on the cross and His resurrection are the ultimate demonstrations of grace.
But grace is not just about salvation. Grace is also the strength for daily living. When you're weak, grace lifts you. When you fall, grace picks you up. When you’re tempted, grace empowers you. As Paul said in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Let us not frustrate this grace by trying to earn what has already been given. Instead, let us walk humbly, thankfully, and boldly in the grace of God.
Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your amazing grace. We didn’t earn it, but You gave it freely. Help us to walk in it every day—with gratitude, faith, and humility. Let our lives reflect the beauty of Your grace to others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
