The Foretaste of the Future Glory
Romans 8:22-25 NLT And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us.
The definition of FORETASTE is an early limited awareness of something yet to occur. And this Foretaste is none other than the ANOINTING
Beginning with the new birth experience we became the carriers of the Anointing 2Cor_1:21-22 KJV Now he which stablisheth us with you in Christ, and hath anointed us, is God; [22] who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.
This anointing abides in us to 1Joh_2:27 KJV But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
1. It Abides in our Hearts Not like the anointing in Acts_1:8 It doesn’t come and go,
2. It teaches Revelation Truth flows from this anointing Act_2:37 pricked in the Heart, Luk_24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our Heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
3. Is No Lie, the Father of lies can not touch you 1John 5:18 KJV We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
while we’re deep in prayer, or while worshiping even while we’re preaching we feel the anointing flowing through us. That changes the atmosphere around us. This is the FORETASTE of the Future Glory we who know this taste must always be mindful that the anointing of the Holy Spirit is also a Ephesians 1:14 The Spirit is God’s guarantee that he will give us the inheritance he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. He did this so we would praise and glorify him.
