Life often feels like a journey where we can only see what’s directly in front of us. We make plans, set goals, and work hard, but sometimes it seems like nothing is happening. In those moments, it’s easy to feel discouraged, as if God has forgotten us. However, the truth is that even when we don’t see His hand moving, God is always working behind the scenes on our behalf.

1. God’s Unseen Preparation
Before God brings us into our breakthrough, He is often preparing us—and our circumstances—in ways we can’t perceive. Just as Joseph was sold into slavery, falsely accused, and imprisoned before becoming Egypt’s second-in-command (Genesis 37-41), God was working behind the scenes to position him for greatness.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28, NIV)

Even when Joseph couldn’t see it, God was orchestrating events to save nations and fulfill His promise.

2. God Fights for You in the Background
Sometimes, the battles we face are not ours to fight—they belong to the Lord. When the Israelites were trapped between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea, God told Moses:

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." (Exodus 14:14, NIV)

At the right moment, God parted the sea and delivered them. What seemed like an impossible situation was actually a setup for a miracle. When you feel stuck, remember that God is working behind you, making a way where there seems to be none.

3. Your Waiting Season Has a Purpose
David was anointed king years before he actually took the throne. During that time, he faced trials, betrayal, and danger, yet God was refining him for leadership.

"He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake." (Psalm 23:2-3, NIV)

Even in the waiting, God is shaping your character, strengthening your faith, and aligning things in your favor.

4. Sudden Breakthroughs Come After Unseen Work,

Esther’s rise to queenship and her courageous stand to save her people didn’t happen by chance. God was working behind her, placing her in the palace "for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14).

Similarly, your breakthrough may come suddenly, but it’s the result of God’s unseen preparation.

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Corinthians 2:9, NLT)

Trust His Process
If you feel like nothing is happening in your life, remember—God is working behind you. He is setting the stage, shifting circumstances, and preparing you for what’s ahead. Your job is to trust Him, remain faithful, and keep moving forward.

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6, NIV)

When the time is right, you’ll look back and see how every step, every delay, and every struggle was part of His divine plan. So don’t give up—your greatest victories may be just ahead!

Amen.
