Sometimes we project the pain caused by broken, imperfect people onto a perfect and loving God. But God is not the one who betrayed, gossiped, abused, or neglected you — humans did. The church is supposed to be a place of healing, but it’s made up of flawed individuals. When they act out of pride, fear, or selfishness, they misrepresent the heart of God.

God still loves you deeply. He still calls you gently. He still wants to heal you. Don’t let the wounds caused by others drive you away from the One who can actually make you whole.
