YHWH-Jireh יְהוָה יִרְאֶה. (The Lord Will Provide)
Genesis 22:13-14 (NIV):
Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide (YHWH-Jireh) . And to this day it is said, "On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided."
As God provided for Abraham a sacrifice so he provides for us a sacrifice in the person of Jesus Christ.
Around the year 2100 BC and 1900 BC Isaac ask the Question where is the lamb?
Genesis 22:7 (NIV):Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father? "Yes, my son?" Abraham replied. "The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
It is interesting that a ram and not a lamb was found at that time to take the place of Issac for the lamb was not yet to revealed.
And after 2,000 years in 27 AD we was to receive the answer from John the Baptist saying here is the lamb.
John 1:29 (NIV):
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!"
John 1:36 (NIV):
When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, "Look, the Lamb of God!"
As to say to us this is the Lamb which God provided which God is to use to take away our sins. And as a Lamb he came and died for our sins without a word of compliant of why a sinless Saviour was to die for us who are so vial and polluted in sin.
Isaiah 53:7 (New American Standard Bible):
"He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He did not open His mouth; Like a lamb that is led to slaughter, And like a sheep that is silent before its shearers, So He did not open His mouth."
When ready to complaint of what you are lacking remind yourself what God had provided and the price it cost him for those undeserving sinners like ourselves .
