- Luke 17:5–10, Jesus teaches two connected lessons:
Faith: Even a tiny amount of genuine faith (“the size of a mustard seed”) has great power because its strength lies in God, not in its size.
Servanthood: Disciples should obey God humbly, not expecting praise or reward. Like servants fulfilling their duty, believers serve out of love and faithfulness, not to earn merit.

Jesus tells the story of a rich man who lived in luxury while a poor beggar, Lazarus, suffered outside his gate. When they died, Lazarus was comforted in heaven while the rich man was in torment. The rich man begged for relief and for his family to be warned, but it was too late.

- In John 3:13-17, the Catholic interpretation emphasizes that Jesus, as the Son of Man, is the sole one to ascend to heaven, having descended from it. His "lifting up" on the cross, like Moses' bronze serpent, signifies a triumph of God's immense love, offering eternal life to all who believe in Him, not condemnation. This passage is central to the Catholic understanding of salvation, revealing that God's gift of His Son is for the world's salvation, not its judgment. In John 3:13-17, the Catholic interpretation emphasizes that Jesus, as the Son of Man, is the sole one to ascend to heaven, having descended from it. - Luke 14 : 1, 7-14
One sabbath when he went to dine at the house of a ruler who belonged to the Pharisees, they were watching him. Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he marked how they chose the places of honor, saying to them, “When you are invited by any one to a marriage feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest a more eminent man than you be invited by him; and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give place to this man,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, go up higher’; then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. For every one who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”Luke 14 : 1, 7-14 One sabbath when he went to dine at the house of a ruler who belonged to the Pharisees, they were watching him. "People will come from the East and the West and will take their places at the table in the kingdom of God."
Jesus tells us that all people are called to salvation and to live with God; however, this plan of God must be embraced by each person, who must therefore strive to pass through the narrow door, lest, through negligence, they remain outside the hall of the banquet of the kingdom of God.Gospel Lk 13:22-30 "People will come from the East and the West and will take their places at the table in the kingdom of God." Then Jesus said to them,
“Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say,
‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread;
a friend of mine on a journey has come to me,
and I have no food to offer him.’
And suppose the one inside answers,
‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked,
and my children and I are in bed.
I can’t get up and give you anything.’
I tell you,
even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship,
yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.”Luke 11:5–8 Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. > 38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him.
39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said.
40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”
41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things,
42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”
He said to him, “What is written in the Law? How do you read it?”
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.”
And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this, and you will live.”
But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?”
Jesus replied, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he fell among robbers, who stripped him and beat him and departed, leaving him half dead.
Now by chance a priest was going down that road, and when he saw him he passed by on the other side.
So likewise a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion.
He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.
And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, ‘Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.’
“Which of these three, do you think, proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell among the robbers?”
He said, “The one who showed him mercy.” And Jesus said to him, “You go, and do likewise.”📖 Luke 10:25–37 (The Parable of the Good Samaritan) And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” He said to him, “What is written in the Law? The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.
