1 Dec 25 . Five weeks ago this site was scraped for content TO STEAL in over 300 separate incidents. And now it has happened again, sometime last night – this time all from Finland, 208 posts STOLEN.
WHY are they targeting me ? What is the benefit for them, how are they going to make money off this ?? Or do they steal just because they can. . .
It solves nothing to complain about this but I’m not going to let it go without saying something.

A few days ago the majority of this site was scraped for content.
It’s very upsetting that these sleazy people can just steal at whim anything and everything. . Out of 230 posts only 10 were not stolen — this time anyway. . 2 times previously, I’ve had maybe 40 copied at once, by somebody obviously up to no good. This time along with the 220 posts, they also stole 2 pages, with lists of all the music and vintage films. . . gggrrr..
I normally have around 10 views, so imagine my surprize when the stats showed a crew of 305 visitors and 323 views (separate attacks) of my content – all at the same time.
I have been unsuccessful in tracking down the plagiarism, for these as well as the previous thefts, which is highly annoying !. .

What’s strange about this incident is that the stats show a list of 47 countries for visitors – all at the same time ! I don’t know how they did that but guessing that they are intending to obscure their actual location, although the US has the highest number of views, followed by Brazil and India..

⦿ YouTube fired me

I got an email recently from YouTube stating that I had = seriously violated their child safety content policy = and therefore they were terminating my YouTube channel (with no warning). What the hell !
Apparently they are in effect saying that I’m participating in the victimization of minors. NO. No. I am NOT ! N O
I had a small channel, non-monetized or sponsored, just me making a few innocent G-rated videos from clips that had nothing whatsoever to do with, or about minors in any way ! The most recent video was over 5 years ago— so w t f, YouTube !

We have reviewed your content and found severe or repeated violations of our child safety policy. Because of this, we have removed your channel from YouTube.

I have no idea whatsoever what they are talking about as my ‘severe and frequent violations’. I guess it’s a big secret or something, because they never said WHAT exactly I supposedly did. No documentation provided, not even when I requested it.

So I made my appeal stating that an error had been made, with the facts supporting my innocence of these accusations. YouTube itself states that violations of content are flagged by an automated function as well as other users reporting violations. They also state that an appeal may, or may not, be reviewed by a human. A quick response stated that they had ‘carefully reviewed my content’ (they did Not) and their decision stands. No humans involved.

I made a second appeal again stating the facts of wrongful termination and tagged it ‘human review’- hoping against hope that an actual person is in there somewhere. That may be – but not for me, my 2nd appeal was denied immediately, automatically, in 10 seconds.
Nobody looked at it, how silly of me to believe somebody would listen to me ! I wonder if this is happening to other people – but there’s no way to tell anyone, with being blocked from interacting or communicating with anyone on the site..
So if you have a YouTube channel – beware – this could happen to you too.

⦿ Fake subscribers on WordPress

Today I deleted over 60 fake or absent subs going back 10 years.
To those who have blogs here – I think it’s not fresh news that some other bloggers ‘fish’ for subscribers to their own blogs by subscribing to others indiscriminately . . . . . . ‘I subscribed to you, now you subscribe to me’. For me it’s not automatic, NOPE. Sometimes they will ‘like’ the latest entry, then you never hear from them again, and sometimes they don’t even do that, no Views, apparently just expecting a reciprocal subscription.

Some of these blogs are commercial, trying to sell me something (NO)…and others are just weird, with no meaningful content, such as just photos of food with no narrative or recipes, and no commenting / interaction. I still don’t understand the purpose for that style of blog, but I’ve seen a number of them, trying to solicit subscribers… but why ?

For a time there were a lot of outright fakes, a rash of so-called subscribers with nothing but a glob of random letters for sender names on Outlook email (not WP users), signing up for email notifications. I believe they were fishing for return email address harvesting, for sending spam, and/or perhaps even something more sinister. There are so many people on the web now pretending to be something they are Not, with evil intentions ! Those fake subbers were deleted immediately.

(edit, July 2023) – I’m lately getting fake subs whom I recognize as being connected to a flood of spam comments from a malicious commercial site. Three times in the last month these fake subbers signed up for email notifications, without ever viewing a post !
They do not have wordpress blogs and I delete them as subscribers right away. However, they are tenacious and keep subscribing for ’email notifications’ 2 or 3 times after being deleted as subs.
I’ve had =17= attempts in 10 days ! from somebody calling themselves ‘jackrussellterrier23’. STOP IT ! There’s no way to block them subscribing, only deleting them after they do. These folks don’t even pretend to be interested in any content – no Views ! So why are they so persistent about subscribing to a blog they’ve never looked at !
. .Now I think it’s not even a person, but an evil bot, determined to get my email address for nefarious reasons – NOPE ! I hate this.

I don’t chase monetization or sponsors and I don’t care a fig about the subscriber count — I just do this for fun, and want for those who choose me to be real about enjoying the content, period. But to be clear – if I like what I see in your blog, I will subscribe, my choice. And I greatly appreciate my Real Subscribers … you know who you are !

p.s Shortly after posting this I actually had a specific ‘invitation’ to subscribe to some random blog I’ve never heard of, and was of no interest to me–and not even with a fake subscription as bait !. . N O

⊗ WORDPRESS : PLEASE Stop messing with the post editor, will you ? (and other stuff, too.*)
The last ‘improvement’ a few months ago was not better, but more cumbersome for editing my Able
theme full-width posts for spacing or image placement issues. It’s an annoyance that grew daily.
