This application is a game based on the traditional game of Memory, or better known as Concentration. The game involves selecting a difficulty of Easy, Medium, or Hard which reflect the number of cards displayed and the amount of time that you have to solve the puzzle. Scores are based on the number of matches that you find without reference to time or game level. The high scores displayed are calculated based upon the following in this order: game level, score, number of tries, and time elapsed. Scores are stored in a database on smartwaredesign.com and the user/player can voluntarily submit their score by using their name and email address. The high score submission form is pre-populated with the user's gmail address and facebook name (if facebook exists on the user's platform); otherwise, the fields will be blank.
The images used within this application are provided publicly on flickr.com by Yahoo! The images are accessed by the publicly available Flickr API from Yahoo! and are hereby owned by Yahoo! Your license for this game is for the game only and not the images. The images are displayed on the underside of the cards but are not downloaded to your device, they are accessed by URL when displayed. If the user does not have access to the internet, substitute images will be used that are stored directly within the application itself. The images are queried from Yahoo! based on your GPS or Network-based location (based on your device's permissions). Local, safe images are pulled from Flickr and displayed on the cards and if there are not enough images to display locally, safe searches are performed to acquire landmark or historical images.
