Wish I had more books right now. Loved Where the Crawdads Sing and The Giver of Stars. If y'all are looking for recs now, go ahead and download. I'll discuss those now if anyone wants to.

No sports. I'm still struggling to make it to the acceptance stage.

I'm listening to country music now. No, I don't know why. Liking Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan.

Still obsessed with crosswords.

Since primetime TV isn't quite finished yet, we still have that. But soon . . . *shakes head*

So, I finally saw A Star is Born. I liked it, but expected more. It just felt like the movie forced these two characters together and they just became an instant couple. *shrugs* If it had had more build up to a relationship, I might have felt better about it. However, Bradley (who also managed to squeeze two Alias alums into the cast as well) and Lady Gaga did a great job with the roles, but I wanted more.

Bohemian Rhapsody was great. Rami Malek deserved every fucking award he got. He became Freddie Mercury.

I read 34 books this year.

Drop everything and read The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah. Now. Go. Now.

So, I read the Handmaid's Tale. It was pretty meh. It seemed like nothing really happened - Offred accepted her fate and didn't really try to rebel. In most dystopian books, the main character fights and tries to overthrow the government, forces of evil, etc to escape to a better life with her family/friends. I've never seen the show on Hulu, but I suspect they've made it more interesting with other things.

A Wrinkle in Time. I never read it before and wanted to read it before seeing the movie to nitpick it. This was another meh. For its time, it was a groundbreaking book. YA before there was YA. Maybe I've been spoiled by the contemporary YA books to have appreciated it.

I finally saw The Last Jedi. It was good, but long. Force Awakens was better.
