She discovered her love of writing fiction when her children were little and now writes books full of friendship and laughter, that are about women who are far stronger than they realise. She lives with her family on the coast in Essex. My name is Lizzie Chantree, and I’m absolutely delighted to meet you. Grab a cup of coffee, get comfy, and let’s chat all things small-town romance, swoony love stories, and fictional places that feel like home. If you love romance that makes you smile, sigh, and maybe quietly Google seaside cottages… you’re definitely in the right place today 💕

I write contemporary romance that’s cosy, heartfelt, and filled with beautiful settings – the kind of stories you sink into when you want to step away from real life for a little while and breathe. I’m also a mum of two, and I began writing during a very intense and emotional period of my life, when my youngest child was unwell. Writing became a way to ease my anxiety, to escape when things felt overwhelming, and sometimes simply a way to stay awake at night while listening to my daughter’s breathing.

My very first book was filled with sunshine, exotic locations, romance, and joy – everything I felt was missing at that time. When my daughter’s health slowly began to improve, I hid the book away in a cupboard for five years, never imagining anyone else would read it. Eventually, I found the courage to step into the world of publishing and let someone else see my story. It was scary… but not as scary as what we’d already been through at home.

I was completely astonished when that book found its way onto the bestseller lists. Later, we discovered my daughter has contact allergies, and she proudly tells everyone she was the catalyst for my writing career – which is absolutely true. She’s now an adult and I’m constantly in awe of her strength in the face of the obstacles she faces every day.

Because of all this, my books are filled with women who don’t always see their own worth straight away – women who grow, heal, and discover just how amazing they are. It’s a huge privilege to share these stories and to hear how they bring smiles, comfort, and a little sunlight into someone else’s day.     Having moved from Essex to Truro Cornwall in Retirement living I started a book club here with over 20 members. We have had over the past year around 15 local authors come along and talk about their life and works bringing with them their books which our members will purchase and get duly signed
    If you ever head to Cornwall would you be interested in speaking to us?
    The majority of the club are women who love a good romantic sizzler !!
