Designed in collaboration with Northwestern University’s Kellogg School Center for Nonprofit Management, Associate Board Basics is a one-day seminar that introduces early-career professionals to the fundamentals of nonprofit board service through the lens of Associate and Junior Boards. Participants gain a well-rounded understanding of the nonprofit sector and the unique role of Associate Boards in advancing organizational missions.
United Way of Metro Chicago has partnered with title partner Gallagher and academic partner Northwestern University Kellogg School Center for Nonprofit Management to bring you the Board Leadership Institute, a cohort program that prepares philanthropic business leaders for service on the boards of directors of local nonprofit organizations.

As a regional partner, we offer access to BoardBuild’s self-paced, online board governance training sessions for emerging and established leaders. Upon completion, participants become BoardBuild-certified and gain access to an exclusive board matching platform that connects them with board service opportunities nationwide.
