Donna
CEO
Donna Shaw is the CEO and one of our employee-owners. Donna has been finding solutions for our customers for 19 years. This customer service value is the core of her leadership for our team. In her spare time, Donna sits on the BC Wood board of Directors and is sector chair for the furniture industry, firmly believing in the value-added furniture industry, its ties to art and culture, and how this plays a vital part of our Province's forestry management diversity.
Sherryl
SENIOR SALES ASSOCIATE
Sherryl started with Live Edge Design in 2025. She brings 30+ years of sales and experience to the team. Her many years in the advertising sector has instilled strong attention to detail and deadline management. Away from the office, Sherryl is also a painter / sculptor and a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work has been exhibited and sold around the world.
Miriam
SALES ASSOCIATE
Miriam loves art in all its forms: music, good food and photography. Miriam enjoys playing sports and getting lost outdoors with her family and two dogs. She brings a wealth of sales experience from her role at a local women’s clothing boutique, where her natural warmth and deep understanding of customer needs made her a favorite among clients. Her genuine approach to people and dedication to service make her an invaluable part of the team.
Emily
MARKETING & DRAFTING COORDINATOR
Emily graduated from Vancouver Island University with a degree in Interior Design in 2021. Emily wears many hats. She joined the Live Edge Design Team as a Marketing and Sales Associate, eventually settling into helping Katie with all the drafting duties, Safety and Marketing. When not in the office, Emily can be found walking the CVT with her dog, Mogli, or jumping circuits on her horse Hawkeye.
Marc
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Marc joined our team in 2024 and brings a wealth of experience in the industry as well as a vast knowledge of construction. Before moving into the manufacturing industry, Marc spent many years as a dessert baker so time management is very important to him. On his off days, Marc can be found designing renovations for his family home or spending time with his wife and four children.
Katie
HEAD OF DRAFTING & DESIGN
Katie has such a gift with design. With a foundation in the wood shop, she’s worked for Live Edge Design for over 20 years, and been running the drafting department for Live Edge Design since 2006. Her favorite aspect of drafting is helping people see their ideas become a reality, through beautiful technical drawings and plans. Fun fact: Katie and her husband lived and worked on a blueberry farm for many years! Katie is also co-employee-owner with John, Jake, Marc, Donna and Mike.
Robyn
SHIPPING COORDINATOR
Originally from Vancouver Island, Robyn spent 30 years in sunny California before bringing her no-nonsense energy back north in 2024. As our Shipping Coordinator, she’s the engine that keeps us moving, while raising her three kids and manning the Live Edge van. She’s got a sharp eye for detail and zero patience for excuses. If your order is on time, it’s because Robyn made it happen
Jake
SHOP FOREMAN
Jake Humphrey began woodworking at the age of 12. At 17 years old Jake's passion for wood turning landed him a job at Live Edge Design (then known as Pickle Ridge Rustic Carpentry) giving him valuable experience as a furniture maker. Jake's Pacific North West designs and woodworking talent will help us to continue to evolve the #ThinkBeyondTheEdge branding and his passion for client relationships aligns perfectly with our ethos.
Stèfane
SENIOR WOODWORKING ARTISAN
Stèfane is our senior woodworker and CNC operator / programmer. With a background from Camosun College’s fine furniture program, he loves furniture design. Architecture and design are some of Stèfane's passions so it was a natural fit to start working with Live Edge Design in 2012. He finds it very humbling to work with salvaged trees, their size and their stories.
Jan
WOODWORKING ARTISAN
Jan is one of the longest serving employees. He has seen everything. The cool thing about Jan is that he’s a professional skeptic and a mathematical genius. If you’re going to tell Jan something you had best have some proof. His forte is that he can do anything – he could build you an entire house!
Cam
HEAD OF FINISHING DEPARTMENT
Cam is the Head of the Finishing Department. Cam finishes each piece to a silky smooth touch and creates custom color matching stains for projects. When he's not in the finishing booth, Cam lovingly repairs and refinishes musical instruments such as violins and banjos.
John
FOUNDER & OWNER SINCE 1993
John Lore is the owner and founder of Live Edge Design Inc. who cares more for quality than profit and for sustainability more than growth. John is someone who doesn’t believe in "impossible". He is focused on delivering a message of real world authenticity and quality. He is inventive, persistent, nature-loving. John has been a businessman for over 30 years.
