DISCUSS OMG. ♥_________♥
Blaine is so very smitten. The word “pneumonia” never sounded so sensual. Darren Criss does an amazing job conveying how much Blaine wants to touch Kurt, even just a hand, a knock of shoulders…
I'm so pleased with what the show is doing with this so far. I can’t decide if I want them to kiss already or if I’d like the sexual tension/moon eyes to go on for a couple seasons.
PS: Baby It's Cold Outside is one of my favourite holiday songs, but I always make fun of it a little for sounding so much like a date rape song. Thanks Chris Colfer for your delivery of, "Say, what's in this drink?" that makes it coy rather than worrying. LOL?

Bob's house is a dusty, sprawling clutch of old buildings tucked away from the makeshift road various vehicles have carved into the desert ground over the years. It has seen better days, like everything and everyone else around here. There's a rusted green mailbox and a fence missing half its pickets and a wrap-around porch made of old plank wood, with no railing. There's a creaking porch swing and Bob is sitting on it, smoking, with two big mutts dozing at his feet and a bigger shotgun leaned against the house, within arm's reach. Gerard stares at the portrait they make through the solid frame of the Trans Am's windshield.
It takes him seven minutes and as many pep talks for him to push the heavy car door open and get out, boots kicking up dust all the way up the path to Bob's door. Bob watches, unmoved, squinting at him through a wisp of cigarette smoke and stringy blond hair falling into his eyes.
There are things harder to do than fighting dracs or stitching up your own brother or watch the boy you're in love with be too distracted by all the things he hates and all the things he lost to see that he still has you. This is one of those things.
He clears his throat, tongue dry against his teeth. "Hey," Gerard tries quietly, but it booms in the silence of the desert, setting off a series of loud noises: dogs barking from somewhere behind the house, something crashing out of sight, the loud hammering of Gerard's own pulse in his ears. Bob remains impassive throughout the brief chaos, only flicking the ash off his cigarette and nudging one of the mutts with his boot when it starts growling at Gerard. The dog huffs and lies down again, ears still perked toward Gerard.
Gerard wipes his palms on the thighs of his dirty jeans and comes closer, climbing the two shaky steps to Bob's porch. The wood creaks and shifts and feels like it's about to give in, like Gerard's nerves. Bob still hasn't moved, except for his fingers tightening their grip on the shotgun and his eyes, like the dogs', following Gerard’s hesitant progress.
It's been a while since Gerard’s felt preyed on. And it's fucked up that that's how this feels because it's Bob, and there's a reason Gerard's here today, instead of all the months it's taken him to talk himself into coming here.
AND THEN WHAT.

It makes me sad how long it's been since I added anything to my Adam/Kris picture folder. I have this thought once in a while, usually when I'm adding yet another picture to my Adam/Tommy folder. But then things like this happen and I forget to be sad!
( KRIS/KATY ADOPT A PUPPYCollapse )
I can't even deal. When they actually procreate I may have to take a moment.
I've spent all day so far arguing with a crazy pregnant lady about benefits. She is wrong, I am right. I know this because I am a BENEFITS ADVISOR and have all the policies on my side not to mention, oh, years of experience. You wanna dance, bitch?! Now she's dragged both her manager and mine into it, which makes me both froth at the mouth and belly laugh because all she's doing is showing everyone how crazy she is and how much she's not LISTENING TO ME.
/rant.
Also the collective agreement that strips us of our severance pay upon retirement has been ratified. Fuck you too, union. I want my dues back. Upside: I get about $6,000 next summer because I'm being made to cash out my service so far (10 years, FML). Downside: we're each losing TENS of THOUSANDS of dollars at the end of the road because PSAC couldn't negociate their way out of a paper bag if their lives depended on it.
I feel very valued today, I do.

Can we talk about my complete and utter crush on Darren Criss?
A;LDFGH;DFLGH ♥_______♥
It's hard not to be in love with Blaine a little, you know? I'm totally happy with Kurt getting a knight in shining armor, and I don't think it's a cop out, not if said hero just brings out the courage in Kurt. And I want my goddamn cheesy boy/boy romance that takes two episodes or two seasons to develop, I don't care. I just waaaant iiiiiit.
Just for kicks let's rewatch the Teenage Dream scene because it's not like I've watched it four times in the last week or anything.
I'm still not over the look on Kurt's face. Warms my heart cockles.
Then - next on Glee:
( MAJOR SPOILERS, OBVI.Collapse )

Aw man, Leslie Nielsen died? Sad in the face. :( Rest in peace, you irreplaceable national treasure.
In happier news, this weekend Kelly and I got the green light from our donor friend and started looking for an OB-GYN for me. We discovered that the female doctor who delivered Kelly and her brothers is not only still practicing but is gay(!) and recommended on LGBT sites. Done and DONE.
In an appropriate fit of nesting impulses, we (well, mostly Kellly) Christmasified our apartment last night. We usually aim to get things up for my birthday but we wanted to do it a little earlier this year because we'll be gone a whole week in December. And I don't want to miss out on ( Sparkly Times.Collapse )
We spent all of yesterday at
giddyarts! She made crepes (NOM) then we played some LOTR Trivial Pursuit and some Settlers of Catan and some Little Big Planet on the PS3. Time well wasted. ♥
Now, brb rereading all the best old school MCR recs ever unf.

Happy Thanksgiving, Americuh! May I have some pie?
We went to see Deathly Hallows a couple days ago. It was beautiful and creepy and sad and I really liked it even though I was lost half the time having not read beyond Azkaban and not seen the last movie. I have, however, been watching "A Very Potter Musical", like the other half of the internet who didn't see it a year ago, and it's gone a long way to make me fangirl a little, though still mostly at Darren Criss and that guy who plays stoner!Ron.
Eight days until New Orleans!! We finally got our passports yesterday and we're READY. TO. GO. Just a few more ~things~ to take care of then I'm ready to turn 31 up in the air, y'all! And then land on
philosiraptors. OMG B HAAAI.
Took the dog to the groomer this week for the first time ever. Eighty bucks later he looks neater and fuzzier but that's about it? Next time we'll go to Petsmart and pay less than half that.
Kelly has her government reading/writing French language test tomorrow. One step closer to actually being hireable by The Man. Once she passes that she'll have the oral French language test, then once she passes that she'll get interviewed and hopefully land a cushy 9-to-5 and we can finally have the same schedule yaaaaaay. This whole process is progressing at a nice clip so maybe we'll know something early in the new year? Crossing all crossables.
Speaking of life events, Kelly's grandma asked us for our guest list for the bridal shower. Bahahaha. It's gonna be 15 women - and Luc. She was trying very hard not to be appalled at the suggestion of a MAN at a bridal shower. She actually voiced her concern that he'd come in drag. We laughed approximately forever.
We started watching Community. Holy fuck that show's hilarious. Why does it have to air at the same time as Big Bang Theory? They're the only freaking shows we watch!
As for Glee... ( spoilerzCollapse )

little_bullets: stuff about Adam et al, Chris Allan, and My Chemical Kittens. Because all my media's at home.
