Scope of work:
Foundations, Slab on grade, tilt up panels, slab on metal deck, onsite batch plant, dock apron, bollards
Description:
The project included 100 tilt-up panels, some designed with unique geometry and detailing. One distinct feature was the tilt-up pump room, which required the panels to be tilted inside the building footprint.
Additional architectural accent panels were used to enhance the building’s design. These included layered panels, one panel stacked on top of another, with a sliding inset panel system to create dimensional depth and achieve the architect’s visual intent.
Site conditions presented an ongoing challenge throughout construction. The soil conditions made it difficult for the crane and concrete pump to maintain stability during lifts and placements. Lithko worked with the general contractor to develop a plan to pour panels directly from the slab and use crane mats to safely support the equipment during panel erection.
There were also multiple revisions to embed locations throughout the project. Lithko’s team performed a thorough review of each updated drawing and applied our QA/QC verification process to confirm every embed was installed correctly.
Despite the challenges, Lithko maintained a strong partnership with the GC, proactively identifying issues and presenting workable solutions before they impacted production or schedule.
