RISC-V Working Groups

RISC-V International is a non-profit organization that oversees development activities for the RISC-V Instruction Set Architecture (ISA). As an open standard hardware initiative, RISC-V is revolutionizing the design and production of microprocessors.

This portal hosts moderated, members-only mailing lists dedicated to the development of the open standard ISA.

While technical discussion groups are publicly visible in read-only form, marketing and administrative groups are restricted to members only.

Viewing Archives

If you are not a member, you can still view the archives by following these steps:

  1. Click "Subgroups" on the left.
  2. Choose a technical group to view.
  3. Click "Messages" to view the group's messages.

Posting to Mailing Lists

Posting to a mailing list requires RISC-V membership. To learn more or become a member, visit the RISC-V Membership Application.

Member Login

Participation in the groups on this portal is restricted to members who have signed the membership agreement with RISC-V International.

If your organization is already a member, you do not need to sign a new agreement. Instead, send an email to main+subscribe@lists.riscv.org to request access to this portal.

Joining RISC-V

If your organization wishes to join RISC-V, or if you are interested in an Individual membership, please visit the Membership Page.

Public Discussion Lists

There are also public discussion lists that do not require membership. You can join these discussions here.

Privacy & Security

Non-members are not allowed to join the server as subscribers, but may read the technical mailing list archives by simply browsing to the right group and clicking Messages. For that reason, and because there is no NDA present on our server, be aware that when you compose messages to the group, those messages may be ready by a large number of people. Do not post any private or proprietary information about yourself or your company. Please also make sure to follow the Code of Conduct.

By default, new participants on the server are set to private – they are not discoverable using the Directory feature. To make yourself more visible, you can enable public visibility for one or all groups:

  1. Click your name in the upper right corner to access your profile
  2. Select Account
  3. Click Identity on the left navigation bar
  4. To set privacy for all groups, click Edit under Account Profile. To set privacy for one group, click Edit for that group under Group Profiles. You can only set privacy on groups to which you are subscribed.
  5. Use the drop-down box under Profile Privacy to set your desired privacy mode. You can also use this section to create a biography, location, website, or short user name, and add or change your profile photo.

Note: You can also get to the settings for a specific group by clicking Subscription and then Group Profile along the top.
