Okay, I've gotten the last of my cards into the mail last night, so if you got a Holiday card from me last year then you'll probably get one from me this year too. Plus anyone new on my list.


Well, I'm finally done. Grades were posted yesterday for Fall term and I got Bs in both classes. That means I passed all and have my accounting degree after 2 years of full time work and school. *lets out a sigh of relief*.

Now I just need to take the CPA exams.

On the upside, maybe this means I'll actually have time to spend here again.

Well, I'm finally back from vacation!  My parents treated me to a two week Alaska cruise, so I didn't have much internet access, but got to relax and see some absolutely amazing scenery and wildlife.  Also got to ride the worlds longest zipline (over 1 mile in lenth start to finish - top speed 60 mph).  It was a blast!.   Need to remind myself if I ever do something like this again however; just because it is a cruise, doesn't mean warm and sunny!  I never got to wear my sandals, and had to buy a parka in our first port call.  i'll post some pics once I get everything downloaded from my camera.

Sorry I haven't posted reviews of anyone's fics over the last couple weeks, I'm going to try to catch up over the next few days, but am not making any promises.

So I bought a little Acer netbook, which, of course, has no DVD drive.  So, I want to rip my DVDs to my 320GB passport drive. Help?

*edit*  I should clarify...  I do have a DVD drive on my regular laptop, so I have  the necessary hardware to burn copies to my external HDD.  I want to burn the copies so that I can watch them on my new little toy when I'm travelling.  Sorry if any of you might have been confused on that point.  So what I need are instuctions on how to actually transfer the DVDs from disk to the extrernal...

I have a question for any computer savvy people on my list.  I need to look for a new CPU tower (I have all the periferals so don't need a full system).  Costco has some good prices on a system, but I've never heard of the manufacturers   -  ZT Systems.  Anyone every heard of them?  Are they any good?

Okay, I was in Borders this afternoon (it's a big bookstore chain for those on my flist who aren't in the US) and noticed that right up near the front they'd set up a display table for exercise (New Year's resolutions anyone?)... and of course the obligatory exercise DVDs were there as well: Dancing with the Stars, jazzercise, a few others... But the newest craze??? Bollywood Dancercise vidoes!!!

To any Aussies on my flist, I need a favor.  Could one of you buy and ship me the board game "Squatter"?  I'm willing to pay for it of course.  We had a copy from when we lived in Perth when I was a kid, but my brother and his family have taken a liking to it and won't give it back to my folks.  I want to replace their game since I have a feeling that the aren't ever getting it back.
