HTTPS misses with apt-cacher

I just noticed that all APT downloads through my apt-cacher server with a HTTPS mirror result in a MISS, while all requests to HTTP mirrors are handled properly by the Proxy.

I did some tests and switched from HTTPS to HTTP and back to HTTPS on a host:

apt-cacher.conf:

Internet searches for apt-cacher miss https -"apt-cacher-ng" and related queries turn up tons of results about configuring apt-cacher, but nothing helpful.

How can I get apt-cacher to handle HTTPS requests the same as HTTP requests?

apt-cacher is version 1.7.25 on Ubuntu 22.04
