DO YOU NEED A JOB? There's going to be two positions open in my Allstate Corona, CA office posted this week, one for an ADJUSTER position and another for a PROCESSOR (pays about $19/hr and $13/hr, respectively). If you are interested and either have auto claims experience or simply have your Bachelor's degree and need a job, look for the positions on Allstate's website (claims service rep, adjuster, etc.) starting Wednesday. Also let me know so I can tell my boss to look for your application!

Another wonderful year at Gallifrey One is coming to an end this evening, but as per usual, the memories of guests will last forever. Having a wonderful time here at Gally, as per usual, and wanted to drop by with some photos! Today's panels attended included the goofy and cheeky Eve Myles, the lovely Naoko Mori, and the sweet Burn Gorman. Let me start out by saying Comic Con is hell on the body. Therefore, I skipped make up and my beloved boots and jeans for the comfort of shorts and sneakers for most of the con. My feet still hurt, I still got way too overheated (and frozen, as well) at times, but it was bearable for the most part. Saw quite a few panels, including a TV Land panel with Betty White, William Shatner, and Donald Faison (Scrubs), a NASA panel with BUZZ FREAKING ALDRIN (my hero) and JPL's Bobak the Mowhawk Guy (who landed the Mars Rover), a panel for Nobility, a new scifi show starring Ellen Dubin, Cas Anvar, Walter Koenig, Torri Higginson, and Chris Judge, a Helix panel, Defiance panel, and of course, a John Barrowman panel.

Unfortunately my computer is acting up, as is my FTP uploader, and so I can only make zip files of my small photos. That being said, however, YAY, PHOTOS!

Today has been a very tough day. We had to have our beloved cat Maggie put to sleep. She was only 6 years old, but for some reason she became ill and stopped eating. Because of this, she developed Feline Hepatic Lipidosis, which occurs when the liver cannot handle processing all of the fat the body tries to use for nourishment. She became extremely thin, got jaundiced (yellowing of the skin, eyes, etc.), and would have eventually starved to death. Instead she went out peacefully with cuddles and ear scritches.

Unfortunately, as you already know, I am still looking for work, so we're months behind on our car payments and a couple months behind on our other utility bills. So, while we did manage to pay the mortgage, we paid for her vet bills (close to $300 at $286 and some change) out of the imaginary funds in our account. Once the mortgage clears we'll be in the negative. Luckily, a friend of ours gave us $100 when she found out about Maggie being ill and our inability to get her into the vet. Now, we're just looking for the other $186 that we don't actually have.

If anyone can find it in their hearts (and wallets) to help out, we would be so appreciative. We loved our little girl, and couldn't let her suffer. We had to get her checked out (office visit, blood work, euthanasia). Unfortunately we didn't get to take her home afterward. Instead she'll be cremated with other kitties and be spread in their gardens as her final resting place.
