Lightspeed Smart Agent is a lightweight, device-level client from Lightspeed Systems that extends district internet safety and compliance policies to managed devices on and off campus. Designed for K–12 environments, it applies user- and group-based web filtering, enforces SafeSearch and YouTube restrictions, and provides real-time visibility into online activity through Lightspeed’s cloud management console.
Deployed across major operating systems, Smart Agent maintains consistent policy enforcement without relying on complex on-premises infrastructure. When enabled by administrators, it can inspect encrypted traffic to ensure comprehensive protection and accurate reporting. The agent is built for low impact on device performance and updates silently to reduce IT workload.
