A Message from General Manager Matt Tuttolomondo
"Lighthouse Adhesives was a name my father, Joe, and I landed on to encompass the deeply rooted passions and visions of our partner company, TRCC and its founder, Harvey Howalt. Harvey was a successful businessman and was seen as one of the original pioneers of the flooring industry, as well as the founder of Textile Rubber and Chemical Co., Inc. Not only was Harvey a businessman, but a WWII pilot, a loving father, an avid sailor, a mentor to so many, and a beacon of light for future generations.
Harvey and my father, Joe, first developed a competitive relationship as they were competitors in a flooring industry segment. A strong bond was quickly formed, and Harvey would soon recruit and partner with Joe in a small adhesive business, which would ultimately grow into an industry leader and sell in 2018.
Because of Harvey’s eagerness to grow people through business and the investment made in my father, those same values and principles live on in the next generation. With that, Lighthouse Adhesives has quickly disrupted the market and grown to be an industry leader in the flooring adhesive market.
'Lighthouse' is a tribute to Harvey and his legacy, not only because of his passion for sailing but because of his steadfast position as a guiding light and mentor. This has allowed me and his son Chip to mend the principles and ways of the old with the ambition and eagerness of the new, fulfilling the age-old principle that people do business with people, providing bonds that last.
