Easter is quickly approaching! The Lee & Jim Vann Library hours will be different over Easter Break. We are closing early on Thursday April 2nd and will be closed Friday the 3rd through Monday the 6th. We will reopen on Tuesday April 7th at our regular hours. We're wishing everyone a blessed holiday!
National Library Week is April 19-25
Join the Lee and Jim Vann Library in celebrating National Library Week, happening April 19-25, 2026! Stop into the library to share what you love about our library!
According to the American Library Association (ALA, 2026), National Library Week is celebrated annually to highlight the role that libraries and library professionals take part in by transforming lives and strengthening communities.
This year’s theme is “Find Your Joy” and the Honorary Chair of National Library Week is award-winning librarian, author, and new host of Reading Rainbow, Mychal Threets!
Each day of the week covers a different celebration:
Monday, April 20: Right to Read Day, a day for readers, advocates, and library lovers to take action to protect, defend, and celebrate the right to read.
Tuesday, April 21: National Library Workers Day, a day for library staff, users, administrators, and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers.
Wednesday, April 22: National Library Outreach Day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons where they are.
Thursday, April 23: Take Action for Libraries Day, a day to rally advocates to support libraries.
