LibKey Nomad is a browser extension that helps you find full-text articles and eBooks available through the COD Library from almost anywhere on the web.
By adding LibKey Nomad to the browser you already use -- such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari -- you will see pop-ups that connect you from websites like Google Scholar and Wikipedia to full-text articles that we provide through the Library. LibKey Nomad will also check if an article is Open Access to offer you all available options.

Pop-ups like this one will appear in the bottom left corner of websites to link to the COD Library and see what options we offer for access to this article.
LibKey Nomad works on many websites including Wikipedia, PubMed, Google Scholar, and even Amazon.
Click the link above to get to the LibKey Nomad website.
Choose the browser you are using for your research already, and download the extension for that browser.
Once the extension is installed, choose "College of DuPage" as your institution to connect to our Library!

And that's it! LibKey Nomad is now ready to use in your browser.
Depending on the webpage, the LibKey Nomad pop-up may say different things. Here is what they mean:
Some websites, such as JSTOR, don't work with LibKey Nomad. Here is the list of publishers that do work with LibKey Nomad.
On other websites like Wikipedia or Amazon, LibKey Nomad is looking for the "DOI" or "PMID" that identifies an article, or the "eISBN" that identifies an eBook. If it doesn't have one, such as on a newspaper or magazine article, then LibKey Nomad won't pop up.
No, unfortunately LibKey Nomad is only available on browsers for desktop or laptop computers.
Please double check with the COD Library before assuming that something is unavailable! You can try searching our Library catalog for the title of the article, journal, or book. If we do not have access, you may be able to get a copy of an article or book through an Interlibrary Loan request.
