Below are words and terms that are often used in the library. Please ask the library staff if you have any questions!
Call Number: The location/address where you can locate library books.
Check Out: To borrow or take home a book, or other item, from the library.
Circulation Desk: the desk in the library where you can check out books, laptops, and other resources
Database: A collection of online resources (books, articles, magazines, and movies) that can be accessed through the library.
Due Date: The date by which you should return items you have borrowed from the library.
eBook: A book in electronic form that can be read on a computer or handheld device.
Librarian: A specialist in the library and information field. If you need help finding something, ask a librarian!
Loan Period: The length of time for which you can borrow something from the library. The loan period is 28 days with items automatically renewing 2 times.
Print Book: A physical book that can be found on the shelves in the library.
Reference Desk: A desk where you can get help to find information either in the library or online.
Renew: To extend the loan period of an item, allowing you to keep it longer.
