BMCC faculty, staff, current students, and retired BMCC faculty/staff have access both on- and off-campus to the BMCC Library's print and online resources. The BMCC Library is also open to community members and provides access to our print collection as well as computer and internet access.
BMCC is a member of the Sage Library System, a consortium of over 75 libraries in Eastern Oregon. As a BMCC faculty, staff, or student, your BMCC Library card gives you access to each of these libraries! Materials can be requested from any Sage Library and delivered to BMCC (or any other Sage Library, such as Pendleton City, Hermiston, Milton-Freewater, etc). Items can be returned to any Sage Library as well.
Loan periods for library materials are as follows:
Library Main Collection materials circulate for three weeks. Up to two 3-week renewals are available, unless an item is requested by another patron. Items from the Library Main Collection can be returned to any Sage Library and will be marked as returned by the library's next open day.
Reference Books, Atlases, and Course Reserve materials are generally Library Use Only, unless special permission is obtained.
Interlibrary loan materials are items (books, articles, etc.) that are from other libraries outside of the Sage Consortium. These items can be borrowed via WorldCat/Interlibrary loan.
**Please note Interlibrary Loan is only available for current BMCC faculty, staff, and students. If you are a community/Sage member interested in Interlibrary Loan, Eastern Oregon University's Pierce Library will fill your request for a fee of $15 per item, plus any applicable fees from the lending institution. Check out EOU's Interlibrary Loan policy before you borrow.
Non-disruptive food (i.e., food that isn't overly crunchy, strong in odor, or messy) and covered drinks are allowed in the BMCC library. Please be considerate of those around you when eating. Be aware of any noise or smell issues that may be disturbing others. Please be sure to clean up after yourself and recycle or discard garbage.
The BMCC library expects library users to behave in a way that is conducive to learning and respectful of the needs of others. The library has designated zones to accommodate different study needs. If you need a quiet study space or a room for group work, feel free to use our study rooms on the second floor.
The Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct page applies to all immediate and surrounding areas deemed as BMCC property and jurisdiction.
BMCC provides students with access to the internet for purposes directly related to education in an environment:
Accompanied children are welcome in the library, and we have children's literature on hand for children to enjoy. Please make sure that your child’s noise level is not disturbing students and watch to see that your child is safe.
Children under the age of 18 cannot use BMCC computers unless they are enrolled as students.
