I recently started to get back into watching anime. I will admit it's hard. I can't simply be satisfied with magical girl anime anymore. Maybe because I'm older? I need a deeper level.
Unfortunately most of the time this is fucking impossible, because Satoshi Kon is dead and most anime that tries to become complicated or interesting just turns into some clusterfuck.
When it's good it's great though. I always liked animation.
In the last few months I rewatched Revolutionary Girl Utena, and watched two shorter series called Puella Magi Madoka Magica and Princess Tutu.
I didn't really like PMMM. The story overly complicates itself and I think I could see it being way better in the hands of a different writer and director, which is a tragedy because it has such a good idea going for it.
I have a giant girl boner for RGU shit and always will, lol.
Finally, Princess Tutu is the finest piece of animation I have ever witnessed in my life. If you have not seen it, do it. It's only like 22 episodes, I think. The second season is kind of dark and it's really not what you'd expect from the art style. Really fantastic stuff.

It's kind of a pain, the place is a 2 hour train ride away. I will have to get up at like 5:30 AM and won't be home until after 7PM. It's only two days, at least.
I put in the order for my uniform and am really excited that I only have to buy some shoes. Darren was grumpy about maybe having to pay to dry clean the jacket/slacks but I wouldn't have to do it often and really, who gives a shit? I get the uniform for free! And I get more than two sets of outfits, unlike Darren so I won't have to wash them all the time.

Lately I've been playing Rune Factory 3 on DS and it's really good so far. Classic Harvest moon with some cool random dungeon stuff thrown in. It's nice, I'd almost given up on Harvest Moon. Now hopefully there will be a RF game where I can play as a girl.
I was also playing Final Fantasy X on PS2 emulator and honestly teared up during some story sequences. That Otherworld opening is SO GOOD. The game in general is just fantastic.

My brother and his wife are going to separate. It's for the best, too. Now he can really enjoy Japan on his own and they can stop ruining each other's lives. Also she's a cunt and I'm glad to see the back of her.
I hope to see a more cheerful Spencer enjoying life from now on, especially in Japan. I hope my new job allows me to save enough money to make Japan the trip of my lifetime when Darren and I finally go. I don't want to fret about money and not do stuff because it's too expensive.
