Programme Details
The aim of this Programme is to develop your professional knowledge and skills of Project Management within your professional context. You will be introduced to specialised knowledge and research evidence giving you an in depth understanding of successful people management in organisations.
The programme provides opportunities for students to develop and demonstrate the achievement of all modules. The first 4 modules focus on advanced theories and concepts of Project Management within a professional context.
This is followed by the Research Methods module and the production of the project proposal which provides the foundation to the final module which is the Consultancy Project itself culminating in a project report. Together these modules provide both the tools to undertake critical enquiry of a problem or aspect which produces better understanding, solutions and recommendations to address the issue.
The programme is designed to equip students with the theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and tools required to effectively manage projects across a variety of industries. The program focuses on the principles, methodologies, and best practices of project management, providing students with the expertise needed to lead projects from initiation to successful completion.

Student who have achieved an undergraduate degree and want to pursue their studies with a post graduate. Mostly individuals who are either already involved in project-based roles or those who aspire to transition into such roles

Modules
The MSc Project Management consists of 6 modules comprising of:
- Planning, Controlling and Leading a Project (15 ECTS): This module aims to introduce students to the realities of developing and managing a project. It will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental aspects of planning, controlling, and leading projects.
- Procurement Risk and Contract Management (15 ECTS): The aim of this module is to enable the student to understand the core concepts of procurement along with the importance of identifying and managing risks related to procurement and contract management.
- Advanced Project and Logistics Management (10 ECTS): The aim of this module is to allow the student to understand concepts of portfolio management and its associated features. The value of having a Project Management Office will also be examined and the stages of establishing an effective project management office will be considered. Students will also examine the supply chain ecosystem and review IT frameworks appropriate for logistics and supply chain complexities.
- Operations and Information Management for Project Managers (10 ECTS): The aim of this module is to develop a critical understanding of managing operations and information systems within projects to enhance project efficiency and decision-making.
- Advanced Research Methods (10 ECTS): The module is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of advanced research methodologies commonly used in business and management research.
- Consultancy Project (30 ECTS): The purpose of this module is to support students to deliver practical and realistic recommendations to address a business-related strategic challenge, which in turn is supported by appropriate reference to theoretical and conceptual analysis.

Assessment Methods
Care has been taken to include assessments which:
- Encourage the development of academic skills of wider reading and research.
- Aid strategic business analysis and decision-making with respect to the business environment
- Provide a range of opportunities to undertake a more ‘practical’ assessment relevant to the real world in terms of the nature and context of the Research Proposal and Consultancy Report
- Focus on business issues appropriate to the current environment.
This includes detailed grading guidance indicating the attributes that your work will need to demonstrate against each of the assessment criteria to achieve a specific range of marks.

Entry Requirements
For entry onto the full MSc qualification, students must possess:
Qualifications
- A successfully completed Level 6 degree in a business management related field or equivalent from a recognised university by the UK government or though the NARIC database. And / or
- Alternative entry requirements may be considered if the applicant has substantial relevant work experience (minimum 3 years) or already holding a level 7 diploma from a recognised awarding body may apply for RPL of their academic qualifications, using our RPL policy which you may find in the link below: Click here
Language:
- Eligible if English is students first language or if student has studied and been assessed in English in order to be awarded a bachelor’s degree.
- If English is not the student’s first language, they must hold an English language qualification (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate competent English language skills suitable for the level of study.

Advanced Entry Route Programme
At LGS we also offer the Advanced Entry Route Programme, this is offered to students that already hold relevant practical hands-on management experience and a recognised Postgraduate Diploma (PgD) in management or an equivalent qualification.
