Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where do the two new initiatives to the legislature currently stand?

Our two initiatives for 2026, Protecting Fairness in Girls’ Sports and Strengthen Communication Between Parents and Schools, were qualified for the ballot. That means you’ll have the chance to vote yes to protect families and girls’ sports this November! We encourage you to reach out if you need conversation starters or materials to communicate to friends, neighbors, and families why it’s so important to vote yes on both initiatives this November.

  • What is Let’s Go Washington doing about Governor Ferguson’s unconstitutional income tax?

We are collecting signatures to qualify IP26-645 for November’s ballot! This initiative to the people would repeal the income tax and affirm for the 11th time in recent history that the people of Washington State don’t want an income tax. We need to gather about 400,000 signatures before the beginning of July in order to get this initiative on the ballot. More information about how to order petition sheets, find a location to sign, or locating a signing event in your area is here!

  • What are the facts vs myths concerning the new initiatives?

There is a lot of misleading information regarding IL26-001 and IL26-638 going around. Click Here to see view some of the actual facts vs myths.

  • How many transgender athletes participate in sports in Washington State?

The truth is, WIAA doesn’t know. By their own admission, they aren’t required to track how many transgender student athletes participate in sports and they only know about student athletes who self-report their participation. The WIAA has repeatedly claimed that there are “only about 10 transgender students participating in school sports” across the state, but how can they make that statement when they have confirmed that they have no way to track how many students participate. Their Communications Director confirms their lack of information in the email below.

Female student athletes competing across Washington State have confirmed the presence of more than 10 males competing in the girls’ categories. Not only is the WIAA doing a disservice to girls by underestimating how many boys are taking their spots, they are refusing to uphold the commitment to protect fairness in girls’ sports. IP26-638 would protect fairness in girls’ sports by keeping boys out of girls’ leagues.

  • Will the legislature undo the changes we make when we enact these initiatives?

No, both initiatives have special provisions in them that would keep the laws safe for a period after they have become law.
  • Is Let’s Go Washington a partisan organization?

    • No, LGW is a non-partisan organization that is proud to work with people on the entire political spectrum. Over 57% of signers were Democrat or Independent. We are proud to be working with a diverse coalition of supporters from many different political backgrounds as we fix what’s broken.
