| This post can be used to thread with or get in contact with Richard at any point when he doesn't have a post up! Just comment here (please use the format [Action, June 24th], [Voice, March 5th], etc. to make it clear when the thread is taking place and what type of thread it is) for a thread with him; if it's a continuation of another thread or post, please link that so I remember the context of the thread.

| Richard hails from Tales of Graces, a game that hasn't yet been released in the US. Since it has been announced for a release Stateside, however, this post is where you can let me know if you'd rather not be spoiled for anything about the game. Please try to be specific on what you're okay with: IE if you don't mind any kind of spoilers, if you're okay with knowing details about the world and the characters but no plot spoilers, or if you'd rather I didn't tag you with Richard at all.
So, leave me a comment here! | comments: 12 comments or Leave a comment |
| [Okay, so between everything that's been happening lately, Richard ALMOST forgot what date was coming up. Fortunately he remembers just in time to actually do something about it-- and do something about it he will whether Isamu wants it or not, which is why he's carefully filtering this message away from his friend.]
For those of you who know him, Isamu's birthday happens to be on Tuesday. I'm preparing a small party for him at House 28; any friends of his are welcome to stop by to give him birthday greetings and enjoy some food. I just ask that you not say anything about this to him ahead of time-- it won't be much of a surprise if he knows about it, after all.
[Later that afternoon Richard can be found hauling home a sizable box of decorations (the birthday ones are hidden beneath a seemingly innocuous mound of Christmas decorations) from the store, looking in a much better mood than he's been in for weeks. He can't explain this sudden cheer and he's not sure he wants to; right now he's just intent on enjoying the festive atmosphere while it lasts and trying to prepare a surprise party for his friend without said friend finding out about it-- which might be a difficult task considering they share a room.] | comments: 93 comments or Leave a comment |
| [It started out as a normal day-- if it can be called "normal" considering that two of his housemates are currently about eight years younger than usual, but fairly uneventful regardless. The "keep Asbel from getting himself or Hubert killed" duties were passed back and forth between him and Cheria as needed until finally he managed to escape and leave them to pester Cheria about the dinner she's currently preparing.
... come to think of it, he hasn't seen Sophie all day. He should go let her know that dinner is almost ready.
He hardly gets the door open six inches before he realizes with a sinking feeling that something is terribly wrong. Sophie's room is empty, bare, as if no one had ever lived in it at all. And Richard has been in Luceti long enough to know what that means...
It's with a neutral expression born from years of practice that he shuts the door behind him and heads back downstairs to inform the others of this, opening his journal to send a short message on the way.]
For those of you who knew her, Sophie has been sent back home to Efinea.
[He really isn't looking forward to explaining this to Asbel and Hubert...] | comments: 209 comments or Leave a comment |
| [Sometimes you just really, really need to get out of your house for a little while. That goes double when it is your birthday and your house is currently the residence of an ancient demon temporarily inhabiting the body of one of your best friends and a several-years-younger version of another friend in addition to the usual interesting cast of characters who reside there.
As much as Richard likes them, sometimes he just needs a little space, especially when he would much prefer that no one gets it into their heads to throw him a party or something. That's why this Saturday evening finds him at Good Spirits, nursing a glass of wine at the bar and just people-watching, though he isn't really making much effort to approach anyone. (Not yet, at least. Give him a few more drinks and that might change.)
Later on in the evening, he'll head back home and attempt to sneak to his room before anyone can jump on him to wish him a happy birthday. Of course, knowing his luck...] | comments: 103 comments or Leave a comment |
| ( Action for housemates (and Paprika, if she'd like to dream hop), cut for Graces spoilersCollapse )[Voice][Some time later, in the wee early hours of the morning, Richard will pick up his journal. It's a bit too awkward for him to ask outright for what he wants because A) this is not Cheria he's asking, and B) he was half-joking that time he asked her anyway, so he'll couch it in slightly different terms.]It's rather boring at this hour of the night... would anyone happen to know any interesting songs to pass the time until I fall asleep? [Better than asking for someone to sing him to sleep, at least.] | comments: 153 comments or Leave a comment |
| [It's late in the afternoon when Richard awakens in the middle of the forest, clad only in the pair of white pants given to all New Feathers when they arrive. As if that weren't bad enough, it's currently raining, and he's disoriented and confused and why does his back hurt and where is he? There's something strangely familiar about this situation, though. He feels like it's happened before, but his memories are fuzzy and he can't seem to remember anything beyond... beyond...
And then, very slowly, like water trickling through a crack, it begins to come back to him. He's been here before. Twice, in fact, over a year in total, and Asbel and the others are here as well. He needs to find them.
So he'll be making his way through the forest - he remembers enough to follow the river, at least - to the village, feeling decidedly uncomfortable at exposing so much skin (he's royalty, this isn't proper, even if he's done it here before) and spending a few confused moments trying to remember where the clothing store is so that he can retrieve his own clothes.
That accomplished, he sets out for the house... only to realize that he can't remember which house it is. With only a vague memory to guide him, he wanders the streets until one house feels more familiar than the others. Let's just hope he's got this right.
And so it is that Richard opens the door to House 28, soaking wet and still trying to remember everything, but glad to be home.] | comments: 226 comments or Leave a comment |
| [Richard didn't initially realize what day it was when he woke up. In fact, it didn't even occur to him until he checked the calendar, at which point it hit him like a ton of bricks.
A year.
He's been in Luceti for one whole year now. And how much has happened during that year... some of the happiest and saddest moments of his life have occurred here, in this little village. A part of him wonders how his kingdom is doing back at home, what will await him when he returns... and then his thoughts drift to the news he received from Asbel the other day, that Sophie and the others are now here as well. There's a lot to think about, most of which he's already spent days agonizing over. Right now, he just needs a break and the chance to clear his head, which means aimless wandering.
Said wandering takes him past the item shop; on a whim, he decides to enter it, just to take a look around. A violin on a shelf catches his eye-- that's not something he'd been expecting to see. How long has it been since he last played? More than a year, at least. Yet something urges him to pick it up, so he does, heading out of the store and to a place where he can be alone... or so he thinks.
He settles himself under Ammy's cherry tree and takes it out to practice, not realizing that the wind has blown his journal open and it's now picking up everything.
His playing is shaky at first as he readjusts to the feel of the instrument, but soon a lovely, sad melody will be issuing over the journals to anyone who may happen to be listening in.]

| [The handwriting for this particular entry is far neater than what is usually seen in the journals: a strong, tidy hand, though it may look rather unusual to anyone not from Efinea.
He'd almost filtered it before realizing that doing so would be going against what he was working on at the moment, so instead he leaves it open to be seen by all.]To those of you who have ever sought a way to stop something you weren't always aware you were doing, how did you go about doing so? More specifically, I would like suggestions on how to be more honest, both with myself and with others. [Richard hasn't been spending much time at home lately, so today, like most of the days before it, he'll be out for a walk in the snow, seemingly lost in thought as he just wanders through the village and out a ways into the forest before heading back once it starts to get dark. He'll pause outside of House 28, though, lingering for a moment as if deciding whether or not to knock on the door. The residents there might catch him doing so; he's not being very subtle about it.
Later that evening, housemates will find him fast asleep on the couch, a book open in his lap and a cup of tea going cold on the side table. He might be starting to tilt over, too...] | comments: 199 comments or Leave a comment |
| [There are the sounds of a somewhat muffled conversation in the background before Richard picks up the journal to address it, a clear undercurrent of happiness and slight excitement to his voice.]
So this is what they refer to on Earth as a "white Christmas." I've read that this sort of Christmas is the best kind to have despite the weather... what do all of you think? Do you prefer the snow, or would you like a sunny day?
[He'll be sitting on the couch sipping a cup of tea while he waits for answers-- and his housemates, because IT'S CHRISTMAS AND HE IS EXCITED due to not having this holiday in his world. Might as well enjoy it while he's here, right?] | comments: 296 comments or Leave a comment |
| [There are few things guaranteed to wake a guy faster than rolling over onto two soft and squishy things that are very definitely not supposed to be there. That's such a surprise, in fact, that Richard ends up jumping and knocking the journal off the nightstand with a decidedly feminine shriek.
There's silence for a long moment, then... it's a woman's voice that comes on over it.]
... Naoki, please don't look at me right now.
[Then, realizing that the journal is open and recording, he'll pick it up (making sure to keep the image portion pointed far away from him) and try to go about sounding as perfectly normal and calm as he can considering that he woke up and suddenly found himself a member of the opposite sex.]
Forgive me; if I woke anyone up, I apologize. There's no need for concern-- at least, none beyond the usual sort during an experiment.
[... let's just ignore how awkward this is going to make the household right now.] | comments: 222 comments or Leave a comment |
| [It's a clear autumn day, with crisp air and blue skies-- the perfect weather for taking a long walk, which is exactly what Richard is out doing right now. Only, well, it's less of a walk and more of a patrol of sorts, just in case. Not that he actually expects to find Naoki, but it can't hurt to keep an eye out anyway. He'll be wandering around pretty much all over town, out into the forest, and finally back to Apartment 23, where he's been staying for the past few days.
Anyone who spots him will probably notice that he looks somewhat tired and in less of a good mood than he usually is.] | comments: 126 comments or Leave a comment |
| [Anyone who passes by the fountain today might notice something unusual: namely, a certain blond prince slumped in a sitting position against it. Only, well, he's no longer a prince, and he seems to be unconscious, but only the latter part is obvious. There are no visible injuries and he's still breathing, he just doesn't show any signs of waking up anytime soon.
Every now and then his face will contort slightly as if he's in pain or disturbed by some sort of bad dream, or maybe both. It's clear that whatever happened to him while he was gone wasn't good, but he's alive and in one piece and that's what matters the most. Whether there's anything non-physical wrong... that's yet to be seen.] | comments: 104 comments or Leave a comment |
| [It's early in the morning, just shortly after sunrise, and Richard is sitting on a fallen tree a short distance from House 6. Naoki had taken him there after CH 4 had collaspsed, and while it's far more crowded than Richard is used to, he's grateful to have a roof over his head and to be in the company of a friend (friends, possibly, though he's still not sure what Isamu thinks of him).
But eventually he needs some space, and that's why he's slipped outside to be alone for a while. Sure, he's seen several experiments by now, but this... this is completely different. Before this, Luceti hadn't seemed so bad at all. Now, however, he's not so sure.
And then there was that entire conversation he and Naoki had had the other day... it's amazing how confusing things could become in just two days. This is most certainly not the way Richard had been expecting to spend his 20th birthday.] | comments: 146 comments or Leave a comment |
| [It's a lovely, warm summer day, the perfect weather for the activity Richard has in mind today. After a brief stop at the clothing store to pick up a pair of swim trunks (something he hadn't realized he didn't have until he'd started making plans with Naoki) and another stop at the grocery store to get some food for a picnic, he'll be heading over to CH 7 to meet up with his friend for a trip to the lake.
Feel free to run into him at any point during his walk and ask him what he's up to.]
[OOC: Tags will be slow to non-existent until later this evening; I just wanted to get this up like I promised.] | comments: 90 comments or Leave a comment |
| [Anyone near the western edge of the village this afternoon might spot a young man in the garb of a New Feather staring at the village with a bit of a perplexed expression, one hand resting on his hip. It's pretty obvious that this isn't where he'd been a few hours ago (the wings would be perhaps the biggest hint of that), but what he's not sure about is whether he's still in Windol or not.]This isn't Lhant, and it's too big to be Ohlen. [He shakes his head.] Where in the world am I? And what happened to Asbel, Sophie and Miss Pascal...? [OOC: Wanted to get him settled in before all of the chaos with the Remnants goes down! Also, if you haven't already tagged his permissions post, please do so to make things easier for me.] | comments: 62 comments or Leave a comment |
