About the challenge

Welcome to Learn It's newest worldwide hacking event!  This hackathon aims to utilize your ambition, intellect, and creativity to create prototypical STEM-based solutions for large scale problems. With the second iteration of this competition, we are planning on bringing together innovators from all sorts of backgrounds to tackle prominent issues present throughout the world. 

No coding experience is required! This event is beginner-friendly and thus requires little/no code. At Learn It, we believe that technology has the potential to create revolutionary projects, but that can range from a full fledged website to a simple yet extraordinary product pitch in a PowerPoint presentation.

Requirements

What to Build

As mentioned earlier, this hackathon doesn't require code at all so your projects aren't limited to anything. CAD projects, websites, apps, 3D models, real world prototypes, etc. are all fair game. It's the idea that matters!

What to Submit

  • A 3-5 minute video of your project that demonstrates its functionality
  • A written description of your project, including inspiration and how it will function if scaled to the real world
  • If the project uses code, a GitHub repository containing all files
  • If possible, a live link of your project

Judging Criteria

  • Creativity: 60 points
    Did you create an original project relating to the theme? Is your idea realistic and scalable? Does your project solve a problem connected to the theme?
  • Complexity: 30 points
    How elaborate is your project? Does your project reflect effort? Did you efficiently utilize resources?
  • Presentation: 10 points
    Quality of video demonstration(e.g. in depth, clear voices, good flow, etc.) Note: showing your face is NOT required for video demo.
