Ariel the Angsty Teen Mermaid

There was a girl, who lived under the sea,
A bored teenager who wanted to be free
To walk upon the land and
Dig her toes in the sun-warmed sand
So, she traded her voice for a man, enduring conflict to a degree.

Finish the Story Challenge: The Golden City – Entries

4Tbod4oLcThe original micro fiction was written in response to a challenge by Jane Dougherty using the painting below and the prompt “Far far away.”

I had several inquiries about furthering the story, so I thought I would open it up as a writing challenge for other writers.

We had two wonderfully dark endings.

Read Jane Dougherty’s ending here.

On a Park Bench in the Spring

Remember when we met in spring,
Everything began anew.
We watched the flowers bloom.

Along with the flowers, we felt our love bloom.
The rain cleansed our pasts in spring.
We welcomed this season anew.

We learned to live anew.
Petals and our hearts opened in bloom.
We will always have that spring.

We sat on that bench again in spring admiring each other anew, hoping to bloom.

Gemini Symbiosis

Inseparable since birth. Telepathically shared thoughts and interchangeable feelings; we are only our obligation to our new home. Survive, repopulate, and solidify the allegiance with Earth.
