Refund Policy

Introduction

LEAP Africa is committed to delivering high‑quality leadership development experiences. This Refund Policy outlines the conditions under which participants may request refunds for fees paid toward any LEAP Africa programme, workshop, training, or event.

Eligibility for Refunds

Refund eligibility depends on the timing of the request and the nature of the programme. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to programmes@leapafrica.org c: finance@leapafrica.org (or designated email).

Refund Requests Before Programme Start Date

  • 14 days or more before the programme start date:Participants are eligible for a 100% refund.
  • 7–13 days before the programme start date: Participants are eligible for a 50% refund.
  • Less than 7 days before the programme start date: No refund will be issued, except under special circumstances approved by LEAP Africa.

Refunds After Programme Has Started

Once a programme has commenced:
  • No refunds will be issued, regardless of attendance or participation level.
  • Participants who voluntarily withdraw after the start date are not eligible for partial refunds.

Non‑Refundable Fees

Certain fees are strictly non-refundable, including:
  • Application fees (where applicable)
  • Administrative or processing fees
  • Digital materials or resources provided before the start date
  • Fees for partially attended sessions

Special Circumstances

LEAP Africa may consider refunds or credits in exceptional situations such as:
  • Sudden medical emergencies (with valid documentation)
  • Bereavement of an immediate family member
  • Programme cancellation or postponement initiated by LEAP Africa
  • Fees for partially attended sessions
In such cases, participants may be eligible for:
  • A partial refund, or
  • A programme credit transferable to another LEAP Africa programme within 12 months.

Programme Cancellations by LEAP Africa

If LEAP Africa cancels a programme:
  • Participants will receive a full refund, or
  • May choose to transfer their fees to a future programme at no extra cost.

Transfers and Substitutions

Instead of requesting a refund:
  • Participants may transfer their registration to another person up to 5 days before the programme start date at no additional cost.
  • Transfers after that period will be evaluated case‑by‑case.

Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed within 10–14 working days.
  • Refunds will be issued using the original method of payment, unless otherwise arranged.
