Once this step is completed, the purchase is said to be complete, however the transaction process has just begun. The merchant who receives the customers’ data then uses the internet to transfer the relevant date to Authorize.Net. Authorize.Net merely acts as a middle man, and this data is processed into more recognizable data for the bank. The Authorize.Net system then transfers the data to its banking system known as the ODFI in order to begin the process of money transfer.
The ODFI in turn turns to the ACH Network to verify that the details that have been provided are legit. Once verified, the ACH Network sends a request to the customer’s bank for the funds necessary to complete the transaction. The amount to be transferred is then withdrawn from the customer’s bank or the RDFI and transferred into the Merchant’s bank account, again using the ACH.
Since the eCheck process is strictly regulated, and all transfers are between banks and this system cannot be used for direct withdrawal of cash, the eCheck system is extremely safe and reliable. The eCheck.Net system also does not require credit cards or credit card details. The system is also very transparent, and it is possible to check your bank account details at any time if there is any dispute over purchases.

What is the 1990's? I havend done anything online with a check since we were all using dial up modems to connect to AOL. I mean if its somehow your only alternative, i guess you do what you gotta do.
