Check/Cheque

A check is a paper-based banking method used to make or receive payments. It contains written instructions for a bank to transfer funds into or out of your account. Although one of the safest ways to manage transactions, check usage has declined significantly for more convenient and efficient electronic systems.

When casino banking is concerned, a check is not commonly used for depositing, but the majority of operators offers it as a default withdrawal option. While most players would rather choose other ways to cash-out, some customers, like those residing in the US, often do not have any other option available. A check is a reliable and easy way to withdraw money from your casino account, but not recommended for depositing since the process is a bit more complicated and it may take a while before the funds show up in your balance. It is best to combine withdrawal by check with some other, faster depositing method when possible, like credit cards or electronic wallets.

Depending on a casino, a fee may be charged to issue a check for all or some currencies. If it is an international check issued across borders, then it is possible that your bank might charge additional fees to process and pay out the funds. Check

Cashier's check is sent on business days from Monday to Friday and delivered by mail or courier service directly to your home. It usually takes around 15 days for the check to arrive. Once you receive the check and deposit it into your bank, the funds should be available within 3 working days. It is recommended that you deposit a check as soon as possible since most are cashable for a limited amount of time.

There are several ways to cash a check. You can do it in person at the bank, in which case a valid ID is required. Most banks will not charge fees if you already have an account with them. Another option is to cash or deposit a check at an ATM - use your debit card to identify your account and then endorse the check before inserting it into the machine.

Pros and Cons

This is one of the safest transaction methods to use; however, it is also the slowest. Since a paper check must be physically transferred between banks and then examined for clearance, it takes a while for the money to become available, and that is not something players are willing to deal with unless necessary.

In most cases, you should not have problems cashing out via checks. If you have chosen a reputable casino that has sufficient funds and fills in the check correctly, you only need to be patient while waiting for it to arrive. The risk of loss or misplacement is minimal, but if it happens, operators will issue a Stop Payment to void the check and then send another one, so you will not be in danger of losing money.
