Boku, governed by the laws of the state of California, is a unique payment service that utilizes mobile numbers to conduct secure transactions. Many major mobile companies signed on in 2009 making the service available in 68 countries with more than 250 carriers plus its most recent partnership with Neteller. The Boku team is comprised of talented professionals with experience in a variety of relevant industries including Amazon, AT&T, Visa, Bank of America, American Express and Intuit. Customers have the ability to make purchases from all sorts of merchants including Facebook, Sony, Spotify, Lookout and Riot Games. The site supports English, Dutch, Spanish and French languages and support is available in over 20 languages.
How does Boku Work?
The platform is supported whether online or off and on several devices including smartphone, desktop computer and Smart TV. Customers can use Boku’s payment service with one convenient tap on your mobile device. The registration process is done using your email address and mobile number. The company will primarily communicate with you via text message. Receipts for purchases are also sent via SMS.

So how does it work? Each purchase made is charged to your mobile phone bill. All your purchases will appear on your monthly statement. For example, when using a registered application you may want to make an in app purchase or sign up for a subscription.
Rather than enter payment information such as credit card details or bank account numbers, users can simply use their mobile number to charge the purchase to their phone bill. Another example of how to use Boku would be playing video games on a gaming console such as PlayStation. All game purchases etc. will be charged to your phone bill by selecting the “pay by mobile” option at check-out. Facebook games also tempt us to purchase boosts and other added features. This is where Boku also comes in handy on your desktop computer.
1-Tap is simple to use. When making a purchase with a registered merchant, select the item to purchase, choose the “pay by mobile” option and confirm.
Pros & Cons
Transactions are processed securely and conveniently with nothing but your phone number. This prevents you from having to enter credit card information, which is especially beneficial to those that live in regions where their cards are not widely accepted.
Should there be a dispute with any purchased item or service, customers can file a claim with Boku directly if unable to resolve the matter with the merchant first.
Users are subject to Boku E-Money transaction limits, but then again every payment method has its limitations.

Step-by-Step Guide to Casino Deposits and Withdrawals Using Boku
With the continuous rise of available payment methods, online casinos are constantly expanding their banking options to meet the needs of players from all over the world. One of those solutions is Boku, a mobile-payment method that allows players to make online transactions using their mobile phone number only.
Founded back in 2009, Boku has quickly become a trusted payment provider, especially when it comes to online purchases. Due to its simplicity and accessibility, it became a popular option at online casinos as well, however, it is worth noting that it isn’t as widely available as some other, more popular options.
Getting started is a breeze as well - as long as you have a mobile phone number supported by a participating provider, a sufficient balance ,or billing allowance, and account at a casino accepting Boku payments, you’re all set!
Step-by-Step Guide to Casino Deposits Using Boku
Finding a fast and convenient deposit can significantly improve your overall gaming experience. As boku is all about being easy to grasp, it makes it a great option even for players with little to no experience using similar mobile payment solutions.
So, without further ado, let’s get started:
- Sign In to Your Casino Account
The deposit process starts just as with any other (or most) payment method. Log in to your casino account using the username/email and password combination you decided on during the registration.
- Navigate to the Casino’s Banking Section
Once you’re logged in, navigate to the casino’s banking section. Depending on the casino you’re playing at, it might be labelled something else like cashier or payments. When you get there, look for the deposit menu and open it. Keep in mind that sometimes you can get to the deposit menu right away by clicking on your account balance.
- Choose Boku as Your Deposit Method
Opening the deposit menu, you will get a chance to check out all payment options that can be used to deposit funds into your account. Simply choose Boku as your deposit method, enter the amount you’d like to deposit and proceed to the next step.
- Enter Your Mobile Phone Number
Upon choosing Boku as your deposit method, you will need to provide your phone number before completing your deposit transaction, so enter your number and proceed.
- Verify and Confirm Your Payment
Before your deposit transaction starts, you will receive a verification SMS. Once you do, verify your transaction and confirm your payment.
- Check Your Casino Balance
Deposit transactions via Boku typically take little to no time to process, so once you’ve confirmed your payment, your funds should be available within minutes, if not seconds. Go ahead and check out if your account balance is updated correctly.
How to Withdraw Your Casino Winnings Using Boku
As you might have guessed already, Boku unfortunately cannot be used for withdrawal transactions. This means that if you manage to score some wins, you will need to find an alternative payment method to withdraw them.
Just like we mentioned already, nowadays players have a ton of options available, and that goes for withdrawals as well. Some of the more popular options include eWallets like Skrill and Neteller, or, if you prefer more modern solutions, you might also consider crypto like Bitcoin and Ethereum among others!

Boku is an alternative way to fund accounts via your phone bill, it has become increasingly harder to find casinos with this method although some do still exist. The method is convenient but often comes with additional costs from your phone bill provider or a transaction fee via the casino

I honestly miss using Boku for quick deposits. It was super convenient—just charge to your phone bill, no cards or long forms. It’s a shame fewer casinos support it now. Not perfect, but it made payments feel effortless. Sadly, fewer casinos seem to support it now if any, which is a bummer. While not perfect, it was definitely a reliable and simple option for players who value ease and speed. I’d love to see it make a comeback in more casinos.
