Unison is a next-generation VR headset designed to radically improve the comfort, performance and wearability of extended reality experiences.
The Unison VR headset rethinks the physical interface of VR, prioritising ergonomics, user adjustment, and visual fidelity in a form that feels refined and future-facing. Developed by LAYER for a leading tech start-up, the headset integrates a fully reengineered IPD mechanism, a slimline facial interface, and an adaptive rear adjustment system – all housed within a compact, sculptural body that balances technological precision with human-centered design.
A key innovation lies in the repositioning of the display and lens system, which brings the optics closer to the eye for a wider field of view, while improving weight distribution for long-term comfort. The updated nose-bridge surfacing and flatter facial interface reduce pressure points and accommodate a wider range of facial geometries. At the rear, a seamless ratchet and elastic mechanism offers effortless one-handed adjustment, adapting the fit in real time without disrupting the experience.
