This is a timer meant to allow the timing and scorekeeping for sports like Lacrosse, Box Lacrosse, Hockey and Soccer where you may need to account for penalties or shot clocks. You may configure the period length up to 60 minutes and up to four penalty/shot clocks for 15 second intervals from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. If you jump to another application while timing an event, when you re-enter the LAX Timer, any countdown events are in the same state as when you left them. If you take that one minute call, that 30 second penalty clock will have counted down to zero and the time in the period will be properly reduced by a minute. You can customize the background of the screens by selecting an image from your Photo Library.
Version History Fixed issues related to defects in how completion and starting of periods was being handled (thanks to user who noted the problems and sent me a request). 2.1.1 03/08/2022 App now allows new mode to follow the timing tables timer, if they set "Allow others to follow timer" and give you the 4 digit follow code, you can configure your app to "Follow another timer" and as they start and stop the timer, record scores, add penalty timers, this is reflected on your app. a Caution: Do NOT bother the timing table about anything you see in your app, they are busy, this capability is intended to allow coaches to more easily see status from the timing table without interrupting them, or given a good enough signal (dependent upon iPone versions and local conditions) allow spectators to follow timing. The new companion WatchOS app is intended to allow referees to have a backup timer for things like clearing timers and shot clocks on their wrists. From the app they may configure the two timers with duration, warning indications and name. In addition, the 'Game Info' screen reflects the timing from the iPhone app, allowing them to see the state of the game info e.g. to 'follow' the timing table and therefore get a quick idea of the state of things or in extreme circumstances run the game timer from their own phone (not recommended). As this does involve networking, there is some additional drain on the battery as the devices must send out signals with the changes, some discrepancy in the timing on remote devices may occur as signals take time to be interpreted and are sometimes lost. 2.1.0 02/08/2022 As some users were having unintentional rotation into the new landscape mode on some devices (the phone switching orientations when they did not need it), I have added a setting that enables/disables this capability, found in the configuration screen and defaulted to disabled. This seems a friendlier solution than asking them to lock the orientation of the phone. 2.0.2 06/18/2021 Modified some initialization of the Configuration View(s) to prevent a crash some users were seeing. 2.0.1 05/26/2021 Added landscape view for display mirroring. Re-implemented in Swift to allow better layout support, including iPad 2.0.0 05/24/2021 This update from Apple will improve the functionality of this app. No new features are included. Required changes preparatory to iOS 11 as well as UI changes to better show on some devices. 1.8.0 08/15/2017 Dealing with audio issue when using headphone jack 1.6.1 04/27/2012 Added a new feature for time outs/half time timing without having to reset any other timers. Some minor memory leaks were resolved as well. 1.6 11/22/2011 Fix messed up update of separate stop time penalty stops... 1.5.1 05/03/2011 Fixed a minor defect. Added a preferences pane to allow reset if application hangs (very infrequent event, but it can happen) 1.5 04/29/2011 Fixed a defect where the "Stop All" button was not appearing properly in the separate penalty timers case 1.4.2 03/22/2011 Added automatic advancement of the period when you finish a period and dealt with an infrequent defect. 1.4.1 03/14/2011 Added the ability to pick team colors to make scoring more intuitive Added count up timer when stopped to allow timing of time outs and half time Added option end of period warning bells Minor defects corrected 1.4 02/01/2011 Bug fixed where adding a penalty when penalties were stopped in 'separate penalty stop' mode would start that penalty immediately. Adding options to silence the new audio options and to select a bell for the end of penalty option. 1.3.1 05/10/2010 Added end of period horn and end of penalty warnings. 1.3 05/02/2010 Fixed a bug in the retention of scores between sessions 1.2.1 03/29/2010 Additional instructions to make usage more intuitive. Altered the methodology of setting the times and penalty times to make this easier to adjust on the fly. 1.2 03/16/2010 Added capability to stop/start the penalty timers independent of the main timer so that leagues that use running time and stop time for penalties can use the capabilities. Name change to avoid product confusion. 1.1 03/11/2010 1.0 03/09/2010
