13 Years on One Device Philosophy
Laserlicious has served the Etobicoke and Greater Toronto Area since 2013 with a single guiding principle: we only offer technology we've personally tested, trained on, and stand behind. XERF™ met that bar.
XERF™ is a structural skin tightening treatment that works across multiple layers of the skin to lift, tighten, and redefine facial contours, not just improve surface texture.
XERF™ is a non-invasive, multifrequency monopolar radiofrequency (RF) skin tightening treatment manufactured by Cynosure Lutronic. It delivers energy at two frequencies, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz, into the shallow, mid, and deep layers of the skin (including the SMAS), triggering immediate collagen contraction and long-term collagen remodeling. A standard session takes about 45 minutes, requires no numbing or downtime, and produces a visible lifting and firming effect that continues to improve for 3-6 months.
Unlike single-frequency RF devices, XERF™ is the world's first multifrequency monopolar RF system. The 2 MHz energy penetrates to the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System, the same deep fibrous layer a surgical facelift addresses, while the 6.78 MHz energy smooths fine lines and surface laxity. The result is tighter, lifted skin at every structural level.
XERF™ launched in South Korea in 2024 and was cleared by Health Canada in April 2025, with Canada named as Cynosure Lutronic's first North American launch market. At Laserlicious, it complements our existing non-invasive tightening services like vShape Ultra body contouring, skin tightening, and Clear & Brilliant, but goes deeper, lifts higher, and requires zero recovery time.
Choosing the device matters. Choosing the hands that operate it matters more. Here's what sets Laserlicious apart.
Laserlicious has served the Etobicoke and Greater Toronto Area since 2013 with a single guiding principle: we only offer technology we've personally tested, trained on, and stand behind. XERF™ met that bar.
Laserlicious has spent 13 years building clinical depth in energy-based treatments. Every XERF™ session at the clinic is built on a foundation of 18+ years of energy-based skincare expertise, ongoing device training with Cynosure Lutronic, and a culture of individualized, protocol-first care.
At Laserlicious, XERF™ is never treated as one-size-fits-all. We customize each session by area, depth, and intensity, and when appropriate, we can combine it with Aerolase Neo Elite, Era Elite erbium resurfacing, Clear + Brilliant, NAD+ and exosomes to target laxity, texture, tone, pores, fine lines and overall skin quality for a more complete result.
XERF™ multifrequency architecture and Integrated Cryogen Delivery make it suitable for Fitzpatrick skin types I through VI. We've built our clinic around inclusive care, every tone, every client.
No long-term contracts. No credit checks. No membership lock-ins. In-house payment plans are automatically approved. You're in control of your treatment schedule and your budget.
Voted Top Choice Award laser clinic in Toronto and Etobicoke six years running (2021 to 2026), Canadian Choice Award winner, and BBB Accredited with an A+ rating.

Your treatment is mapped by zones to ensure each area receives the appropriate depth and intensity. Before your first session, we assess your skin laxity and customize the treatment by selecting the right depth (1 of 3) and intensity level (1 of 10) for each area, because a jawline lift requires a different approach than a forehead lift.

XERF™ isn't the right fit for every skin concern. Here's an honest breakdown from the team who'll assess you in person at your free consultation.
Not sure which category you fall into? That's exactly what a complimentary consultation is for. Call (647) 496-5893 and speak with our team during your complimentary consultation.
Most radiofrequency devices use a single frequency. XERF™ uses two, and the combination is what delivers tightening at the SMAS, mid-dermis, and surface layers in one session.
The higher 6.78 MHz frequency heats the papillary and upper reticular dermis, the same layer that softens with age and holds fine lines. Controlled thermal injury triggers fibroblast activity and new collagen synthesis at the surface.
The 2 MHz frequency penetrates deeper, reaching the Superficial Musculoaponeurotic System, the fibrous tissue plane surgeons address during a facelift. Heating the SMAS causes immediate fiber contraction and progressive tightening over 3 to 6 months.
Depth ranges based on Cynosure Lutronic in-vivo studies measuring internal skin temperatures of 50°C, 60°C, and 70°C using ultrasound-guided fiber-optic imaging. Histological analysis confirmed collagen remodeling at all three depths.
Real-time impedance feedback reads how your skin is responding and adjusts energy delivery mid-pulse, so every shot is tuned to your tissue, not a factory average.
Integrated Cryogen Delivery protects the skin surface with a cooling spray timed to each pulse, allowing deep heating without surface discomfort. This is what makes numbing unnecessary.
The patented effector tip distributes RF energy evenly across the treatment zone and uses five temperature sensors to prevent hot spots or edge effects: the safety edge no other monopolar RF system has matched.
Laserlicious offers advanced XERF™ structural skin tightening in Etobicoke for clients across Toronto, the GTA, and those travelling from the U.S. With multiple leading technologies under one roof, we customize each plan to target laxity, texture, tone, fine lines and skin quality for a more complete rejuvenation approach.
XERF™ is a structural skin tightening treatment, meaning each session is customized based on your skin laxity, treatment area, and the level of lifting required.
Treatments start at $1,350 per session. Most clients benefit from a customized treatment plan of 2 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart to achieve optimal lifting and long-term results.
Final pricing is confirmed during your complimentary consultation.
Schedule a Consultation1 session. If you're in your early 30s and using XERF™ as a collagen-banking treatment, one well-dosed session often locks in structural support for 12+ months.
2 sessions. The clinical sweet spot. Two sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart deliver compounded collagen remodeling and the most pronounced lift most clients see.
3 sessions. If sagging is more advanced or if you're combining face + neck, a third session at 8 to 12 weeks can fine-tune the final lift and lock in the result.
Before-and-after images are taken in standardized lighting, at rest, from the same angle. No filters, no photo editing.
A visible tightening effect is noticeable right after your session. Mild warmth and flushing resolve within 1 to 2 hours. Zero downtime.
Collagen remodeling progresses gradually. Many clients begin noticing continued firming and lifting in the weeks following treatment.
New collagen and elastin continue developing. For most clients, peak improvement is visible around the 2 to 3 month mark following the final session.
Results may be maintained for approximately 12 to 18 months depending on the natural aging process, sun exposure, and individual lifestyle factors.
Best results are typically seen after 2 treatments depending on skin laxity and individual goals. Individual results vary.

A note on our other tightening treatments: Laserlicious offers several advanced tightening and resurfacing options, including skin tightening, vShape Ultra body contouring, and Pixel RF skin resurfacing. XERF™ is our most advanced deeper-reaching facial tightening option, but our strength is knowing when to use one treatment or when to layer technologies to target laxity, texture, tone, and skin quality more completely.
XERF™ treatment timeline
In person, we assess your skin tone and type, review your medical history and any medications, map your areas of concern, and confirm whether XERF™ is the right treatment. You'll leave with a clear plan, including session count and exact pricing.
20 to 30 min · Always freeYou'll get a pre-care checklist to follow the week before: pause retinoids and exfoliating actives, avoid sun exposure and fresh tans, stay well-hydrated for 48 hours (hydrated tissue conducts RF more efficiently). Arrive on treatment day with clean, makeup-free skin.
7 days prior · At homeWe cleanse and dry your skin, place the grounding pad on your back (this completes the RF circuit safely), apply a thin ultrasound-compatible gel, and set your custom energy profile in the XERF™ console: depth setting (1 of 3) and intensity (1 of 10) calibrated for each zone.
~10 minThe treatment is performed using XERF™’s RF delivery system, with settings customized for each treatment zone. Most clients describe the sensation as a warm, comfortable heat, often compared to a hot stone massage, thanks to the device's built-in Integrated Cryogen Delivery that keeps the surface cool as the energy works deeper. No numbing cream required. You can talk, scroll your phone, or simply close your eyes and rest throughout the session.
30 to 45 minYou'll see a subtle tightening effect right away. Think of it as a "peek" of your final result. Mild warmth and pink flushing are normal and fade within 1 to 2 hours. You can return directly to work, the gym, or dinner plans. No social downtime.
Resume activities immediatelyThe real work happens quietly. Your fibroblasts spend the next 3 to 6 months producing new collagen and elastin, progressively firming and lifting. Your second session (typically at 4 to 6 weeks) compounds the effect. Most clients reach peak results around month 3 to 4 and maintain them for 12 to 18 months.
Progressive resultsEvery body XERF™ treatment plan is customized at consultation based on the area, degree of laxity, and your goals. Book your complimentary consultation to find out which areas are appropriate candidates for XERF™ at Laserlicious.
XERF™ will melt my filler or undo my Botox.
XERF™ energy targets collagen-producing cells, not injectable products. Standard protocol is to wait 2 weeks after Botox or filler before XERF™, and 2 weeks after XERF™ before your next injection, which keeps both treatments performing at their best.
RF tightening treatments are too painful to tolerate.
This was true of first-generation RF. XERF™ Wave Fit™ pulse and Integrated Cryogen Delivery cooling were purpose-built so the device can reach clinically meaningful temperatures, 50°C to 70°C internally, without needing topical numbing cream. Most clients rate the sensation 2 to 3 out of 10.
I'll see no difference until months later.
You'll feel and see a subtle immediate tightening as existing collagen fibers contract from the heat. That's the "preview." The bigger, structural change compounds over 3 to 6 months as fresh collagen and elastin rebuild, and a second session at 4 to 6 weeks compounds it further.
XERF™ isn't safe for darker skin tones.
XERF™ uses monopolar radiofrequency, not light-based energy, so it has no interaction with melanin. That makes it one of the few advanced lifting treatments cleared as safe and effective across all Fitzpatrick skin types, I through VI.
One session is enough to see real change.
For mild collagen banking in clients under 35, one session often is enough. For visible lift and tightening at the jawline or neck in clients with existing laxity, Cynosure Lutronic recommends a minimum of two sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for the best result.
XERF™ is just "the new Thermage."
Both are monopolar RF, but XERF™ uses two frequencies to reach the SMAS layer Thermage can't fully access, with real-time impedance feedback Thermage doesn't have. Similar family of technology. Different depth, comfort, and session design.
While XERF™ can be used effectively for skin tightening on other body parts, it is only Health Canada approved for the face and neck.
Many of our clients travel to us for advanced skin treatments. XERF™’s no-downtime approach makes it easy to fit into a short visit, with immediate return to normal activities.
Technology is only as good as the hands operating it. At Laserlicious, your XERF™ session is supervised by Rana Andriya: founder, head aesthetician, and the person whose name is on the door.

Rana founded Laserlicious in 2013 after more than a decade as a clinical aesthetician and educator across the GTA. She's spent 18+ years working with energy-based devices radiofrequency, laser, ultrasound, and microcurrent and has personally trained alongside Cynosure, Lutronic, Alma, Candela, and Aerolase product specialists.
Her clinical philosophy is simple: "Every face is different, so every treatment should be different." Rana strongly believes in education, advanced training, and continuous learning to stay at the forefront of aesthetic technology. This commitment allows her team to deliver a highly customized approach for every client selecting the right treatment, settings, and strategy to achieve the best possible individual results.

XERF™ at Laserlicious in Etobicoke — we publish ranges, not guesses. XERF™ is a customized structural skin tightening treatment, so your exact price depends on the areas treated, your skin laxity, and the number of RF shots required. Treatments typically start at $1,350 per session, with final pricing confirmed during your complimentary consultation.
Most clients describe XERF™ as a warm, comfortable sensation, typically rated 2 or 3 out of 10. This is a deliberate design feature: the Wave Fit™ pulse and Integrated Cryogen Delivery cooling let the device reach clinically meaningful internal temperatures (50-70°C) while keeping your skin surface comfortable. Unlike Thermage or Ultherapy, numbing cream is not required.
For most clients with mild-to-moderate laxity, Cynosure Lutronic recommends a minimum of 2 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart. If you're using XERF™ for early collagen banking (typically clients under 35), one well-dosed session may be enough. For more significant laxity, particularly at the jawline and neck, 3 sessions can deliver the most noticeable structural lift.
You'll feel and see a subtle tightening effect immediately after your session as existing collagen fibers contract from the heat. The more significant structural change builds progressively for 3-6 months as your body synthesizes fresh collagen and elastin. Most clients reach peak results around month 3-4 after their second session.
Results typically last 12-18 months. Annual maintenance, one XERF™ session per year, keeps collagen levels elevated and slows the natural decline that happens with aging. Some clients extend results further by combining XERF™ with other skin-supporting treatments like medical-grade skincare and nutraceuticals.
None. XERF™ is a fully non-invasive procedure, no needles, no open skin, no peeling. Mild warmth and slight pink flushing are normal immediately after and resolve within 1-2 hours. You can return to work, the gym, or social plans the same day.
Yes. XERF™ uses monopolar radiofrequency, not light-based energy, so the treatment does not interact with melanin the way laser or IPL devices do. It is cleared as safe and effective for all Fitzpatrick skin types, I through VI. This makes XERF™ one of the few advanced lifting options suitable for clients with deeper skin tones.
Yes. XERF™ targets collagen-producing cells, not injectable products. Standard spacing is to wait at least 2 weeks after Botox or filler before XERF™, and 2 weeks after XERF™ before your next injection. Many clients find XERF™ and injectables complement each other, XERF™ addresses sagging, while injectables address volume loss and dynamic wrinkles.
Both are monopolar RF skin-tightening treatments. The main differences: XERF™ uses two frequencies (6.78 MHz + 2 MHz) to reach the SMAS layer, while Thermage uses a single frequency (6.78 MHz). XERF™ includes real-time impedance feedback that adjusts energy per pulse; Thermage does not. XERF™ cooling system generally means numbing cream isn't needed; Thermage often uses it. Thermage has a longer clinical track record; XERF™ is newer but showing comparable or better results in early reports. See our full comparison table above.
"Better" depends on your goals. Ultherapy uses micro-focused ultrasound and excels at deep lifting, particularly for the brow and upper face. XERF™ uses dual-frequency RF and tightens at three depths simultaneously, with significantly less discomfort and no numbing requirement. If your primary concern is a deep, focused lift of one area, Ultherapy is a strong option. For broader tightening with minimal discomfort, XERF™ often wins. We cover both in your free consultation.
Yes, and many clients do. Common pairings include XERF™ for structural tightening, Clear & Brilliant for surface resurfacing, microneedling for texture, and Botox or Dysport for expression lines. Treatments are always staged rather than stacked, we'll build a sequence that lets each work without interfering.
XERF™ is typically used by clients between their mid-30s and mid-60s. Younger clients use it for early collagen banking, reinforcing structure before laxity starts. Clients 50+ use it to address existing jowls, jawline softening, and neck laxity. Clients over 70 with significant skin excess may see limited benefit and be better candidates for surgical options, we'll tell you honestly.
XERF™ is contraindicated for anyone with an implanted electronic device (pacemaker, defibrillator, deep brain stimulator), pregnancy, active infection in the treatment area, or certain autoimmune skin conditions. We also hold treatment for clients with severe uncontrolled diabetes, recent Accutane use (within 6 months), or a history of keloid scarring without a full consultation and pre-approval.
Three ways: call (647) 496-5893, email info@laserlicious.ca, or use the booking form at the bottom of this page. Consultations are always free, usually take 20-30 minutes, and there's no pressure to book a treatment on the same day.
Yes. Laserlicious offers in-house pay-as-you-go pricing with no credit checks and automatic approval. You never pre-pay for a full package you haven't started, you can pay per session as you go, which keeps you in complete control of your budget and schedule.
