I maintain my contact data and a short summary about me and my free software activities in https://wiki.debian.org/LauraArjona
About the title of this blog
The first title was "Another blog about free software". Later I changed it to "The bright side" as a tribute of Monty Python's "Always look at the bright side of life" (from Brian's Life film). The background philosophy of free software and its communities also make me feel these good vibrations coming from the bright side of life.

Hi Laura
I noticed that your media goblin site is possibly hosted on a ddns domain(cnamed to media.larjona.net) by doing a DNS check. May I ask are you hosting your media site at your home, instead of in a cluster or on a cloud platform? If your site is hosted at home, how did you enable https which needs port 80 and 443, that are usually blocked by ISPs? Did you use any kind of proxy server like cloudfront?
The mediagoblin server is in my home, I use no-ip for DNS resolving since my home router IP is dynamic. I know I should use other system for DDNS but couldn’t put time on it. I hope during late 2021 or beginning 2022 rethink and reinstall my home server (still in Debian stretch) and I’ll address this too.
About the router ports, I think it depends on the ISP; my ISP provides router credentials so I can open and close ports and also make NAT to redirect them to the different devices inside my local area network. Talk to your ISP about your needs and hopefully they can help.
