We offer language training in English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese and Mandarin.
Our methods and task-based approach take you through real-life business scenes and situations. By setting “can-do” goals that evolve as you learn, your skills grow exponentially.
All our programs are personalized, so you set the pace, the context and the content. Your needs and priorities determine what you learn and how much time you devote to it. Whom do you communicate with? What topics do you discuss? Which communication situations are most relevant? What kind of rapport do you want to build? We specialize in general and sector-specific vocabulary in a cultural context that’s appropriate for your industry.
Each participant will be assessed to determine their current language level and their ability to use the target language prior to training. Based on their assessment, Language Advantage will group similar levels into a class format. Our assessment has 2 parts (Oral & Written).
We offer online language training with live instructors and, depending on instructor availability, we may also provide in-person sessions. The online training is delivered through a web-based platform, powered by LearnCube’s award winning virtual classroom software. We provide reliable video-conferencing in a sophisticated virtual classroom environment that allows teachers and students to collaborate effectively inside and outside of the class (through an interactive whiteboard, file and media sharing, scheduling and homework feature, all in one place).
We offer private, semi-private (2 participants), mini-group (3 participants), and group (4 participants) sessions. We limit the group size to 4 participants to ensure everyone has ample opportunities to speak and practice.
Everyone learns differently, with different strengths, skills, pace and comfort levels. Based on the assessment conducted when you begin—and your particular needs, expectations and goals for learning—we develop a specific, individualized program, customized for you.
The length of the course will vary for each learner. After your evaluation and before you begin, we will provide you with a complete estimate of the time commitment involved. This will include sessions with your coach-teacher and the amount of independent study and self-directed learning that may be necessary. To learn more about our different packages, please contact us.
Our coaches are chosen for their proven teaching abilities and years of hands-on experience. All are warm, patient tutors, with exceptional educational qualifications, business acumen, and the ability to adapt well to new technology.
Our retention rate is very high; some of our coaches have been with Language Advantage for nearly two decades.
Authentic materials are used in each class in accordance with Participants’ – Group Ability / Program (specialized textbooks, company literature/documents, newspaper/magazines articles, podcasts, videos).
We require a 24-hour notice for class cancellations and offer greater flexibility for private lessons.
At the beginning of each program, we set ‘can-do’ goals and other language training objectives tailored to your needs. While determining your language proficiency level is helpful, our primary focus is on assessing what you can actively do in the target language. As you progress, we evaluate your abilities in relation to these initial goals, ensuring continuous growth and alignment with your objectives.
Once we have the list of participants, and prior to the start of the training, we will schedule individual discovery calls and assessments to better understand your language goals, preferences, and learning styles. This enables us to design a customized program that aligns with your specific needs. Based on the assessments, Language Advantage will group participants with similar proficiency levels into appropriate class formats.
