Each summer, landscape and lawn care professionals from across the country gather at Arlington National Cemetery for Renewal & Remembrance, a day of service that honors our nation’s heroes. Volunteers donate their time and expertise to care for the cemetery’s historic grounds, installing irrigation, improving turf, protecting trees, installing hardscapes and landscapes that serve as a living tribute to those who served. This annual event reflects the industry’s commitment to giving back and preserving one of America’s most sacred places.

Volunteer Projects at Arlington National Cemetery

In July 2026, volunteers at Arlington National Cemetery will participate in meaningful projects including applying lime, planting flowers, lightning protection to trees, installing irrigation and various landscape and hardscape projects. Volunteers’ children will be invited to participate in activities specifically designed for them. There needs to be one parent/legal guardian present for a child to participate in the program. The parent/legal guardian cannot work on a project elsewhere.

Only working volunteers can attend the R&R event at ANC due to capacity restrictions. The number of participants at ANC is limited and based on the need for each project.

There is no fee to participate, but we do invite you to join us for the dinner on Sunday evening, July 19th, at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. There is a $100 per person fee for the dinner.
